That kinda sucks. I wonder what happened where it was originally November, then it was pushed ahead to October and then back again to November. And if what you hear is true, the end of November.

I would have liked to have had them a lot sooner too, but it's only 3 more weeks from tomorrow.

KXVA, the Fox affiliate for Abilene TX, appears to have been added in HD this morning.

Has anyone noticed any other changes to their local channel lineups?

Here's the complete update. Most of this was mentioned above. The KATV entry on channel 60 is a significantly viewed station for counties in multiple markets in southern sections of Arkansas. It is what was being referred to as ARKNEWS in previous updates. I believe it is available to parts of the Shreverport/Texarkana and Monroe/El Dorado markets.

    Code:
New additions from 2010-11-03 compared to 2010-10-27:
      *[31] KEYU HD (Univision-Amarillo TX) @ SW1 TP 3
       *[2] WTWO HD (NBC-Terre Haute IN) @ SW1 TP 4
      *[10] WTHI HD (CBS-Terre Haute IN) @ SW1 TP 4
      *[16] WUSI HD (PBS-Terre Haute IN) @ SW1 TP 4
      *[22] WVUT HD (PBS-Terre Haute IN) @ SW1 TP 4
      *[38] WFXW HD (Fox-Terre Haute IN) @ SW1 TP 4
      *[36] KMTW HD (MyNetworkTV-Wichita KS) @ D10 TP 17

Newly Available Channels from 2010-11-03 compared to 2010-10-27:
       [15] KXVA HD (Fox-Abilene TX) @ SW1 TP 5
       [67] WIYC MPEG4 SD (TCN-Montgomery AL) @ SW1 TP 4
       [60] KATV HD (ABC-via Little Rock AR) @ D11 TP 23

    Satellite/Transponder Moves from 2010-11-03 compared to 2010-10-27:
    (none)

    Name/Number/Etc Changes from 2010-11-03 compared to 2010-10-27:
    (none)

Removed Channels from 2010-11-03 compared to 2010-10-27:
    (none)

    Notes:
    * Asterisks typically denote channels that are currently unavailable.
In some rare cases, stations without an asterisk are also unavailable.
    * Listed cities indicate the DMA city, not necessarily the city of license
    for that particular station
    * Stations in each category are sorted by DMA then channel number.

One more note. The Clarksburg/Weston locals launch has been pushed back to December. The others scheduled for November are still listed as November.

Usually locals launch on Wednesday. Maybe they're moving it up a day because of Thanksgiving? It's possible.

I live in SW Kansas, and for about 2 years now we have had HD locals and then last Monday they were gone. No explanation from DTV. but yet two counties to the east they have them. We are both serviced from the same Wichita stations. WHAT GIVES? Any ideas. DTV has been no help. They say its FCC.

Do you receive SD locals from Wichita? What is your zip code?

Yes our local networks went from HD to sd. They are from Wichita. 67835. All of western Kansas receives their feeds from the Wichita stations.

Gotcha. There has always been a section of western Kansas that has only received SD locals from Wichita. This is because the spotbeam the HD locals are delivered on has never covered the entire market. There are also apparently some areas outside of the SD spotbeam (mainly in Nebraska and far NW Kansas from what I can tell) that don't receive Wichita locals at all from DirecTV.

As of Wednesday, the Wichita HD locals had not moved to a different satellite or transponder. The only physical change I could imagine is some sort of change to the spotbeam itself (though I'm not particularly sure if that can be done on the fly). It's possible they are planning to move the HD channels to a different spotbeam that will no longer provide adequate coverage to your area, and they are shutting them off in anticipation.

I will say this. A few months ago, I made some adjustments to my coverage map (seen in the first post of this thread) based on the the output from the local channel lookup tool. At that time (some time in July), it indicated that only SD locals were supposed to be available for the 67835 zip code. I'm not sure why this change wouldn't have actually occurred until now.

It's interesting, though. If you've never had reception problems, it would appear that HD locals could be made available farther west in the Wichita market. (Again...unless they plan to make some changes to where those channels are delivered from)

Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.

Well I can't give you any other info, as the station manager is clueless (per his email)

Is Wheeling Wv hd locals still inline for November. Just wondering cause i will probably have some referal's when they come online here. Any idea which channels will be in the package? They'v already lost many potential customers in this area though because dish beat them to the punch in the area by the sd locals they launched earlier in the year.

Just looked at DISH, and they have HD locals in my area. Doesn't make sense why Dtv says it's a FCC territorial problem. (One of the stories I got.)

The stations here get calls all the time from disgruntled D* customers who were told by the CSR's that the reason they don't have the locals in HD is the stations, which is wrong. They want D* to carry them in HD so they can stop getting the phone calls. Every other available option has all the locals in HD. The problem with D* is their poor customer service. They refuse to give the real reason so all you get is the run around.

    I'm getting tired of it.

    Frustrated in Bakersfield.

I pared this post in the general forums but wanted to see if anyone in here may know about what is going on.

I recently had my Columbus ga locals go live, but shortly after I found I cannot schedule recordings using the directv iPhone app for any show on the local channels. I could schedule these recordings on directvs website though. Does anyone know what this means?

No problem with scheduling programs on my newly added locals here in Montgomery. As a matter of fact, I think that they showed up in my iPhone app the day that they were launched (which was the same day that Columbus launched). Do you have the latest version of the iPhone app? Or maybe delete and reinstall the app if you do? Those are just guesses, btw. Like I said, my locals appeared on my app without me having to do anything.
