Was a little disappointed that they didnt let the free trial go through the whole day on 4/11. I would have expected that by 4/12 it would be turned off not in the middle of the day.

I had canceled this a few weeks ago because we're trying to save money. But, after the free preview I'm reminded that I LOVE baseball. So I called tonight just minutes for before the midnight deadline (east coast). I told the CSR my story (briefly) and stated that we'd like to get it but don't want to fork over a ton of money. She had nothing to offer so I politely thanked her...

She then told me to hold on for a second... She signed me on for the 4 months at $49.99 but then gave us a 6 month discount off our D*Tv service at $20 per month. So if you break it down, I pay $200 for the Extra Innings package, but then get back a discount of $120. So it essence, it costs me $80 (plus tax)... I'm VERY pleased...

We've been a loyal custom for over 2 years, pay our bill on time (autopay) and have ordered a number of sports packages in the past. I know that some people complain about D*Tv but I have nothing but positives with them and the fact they were willing to listen and provide a deal meant a lot to us...

I tried listening to the Mets game Saturday afternoon and the audio was lagging behind the Game Day screen. I understand the delay in hitting the satellite but it still was annoying.

I took your advice and called yesterday to try and get some kind of deal. Wouldn't offer me anything. Kept trying and trying and the rep just kept repeating they can't offer any deals with sports packages. I have been with DirecTV for over 10 years and I can't get some kind of deal?? Errrrrr.

    Try this.....

    888-814-7419

Call this number and tell them you received a call regarding the MLB promo. Seems to be free for the year. You get Choice Xtra/Starz/Showtime/MLB for $59.99 for 3 months and then you get Choice Xtra/MLB for $63.99 (after you call to cancel Starz and Showtime). Seems to be an outbound sales call but I've heard of many people calling the number and getting the deal.

Yes, it's legit. I've seen it posted on 2 other forums and have seen numerous people that have gotten the offer. Ones that have been called and ones that called in and said they received a message about the offer.

It took some work, but I got the deal for myself.

    Thanks for the tip.

I tried calling this morning and the CSR said it was only for new customers because I was already on that package.

PS I called the number above and no one said they were a Directv rep.

Yeah, he didn't say DirecTV upon answering when I called either. I asked if he was with DirecTV and he said yes. It was probably a third-party company that does phone calls on behalf of a few companies, including DirecTV. (I could hear all kinds of other calls going on in the background, so he was clearly in a call-center environment of some sort.) He was able to get right in to my account using just my phone number. About 2 minutes after the call, my online account was updated and all the programming was coming through on TV.

OK thanks for the info. I was leary the way they answered the phone.

Again when I called the above number the new agent said I wasnt eligible since I already have this package. Another kick in the ass to regular customers.

I think they are trying to get old, grandfathered packages switched to the new ones so if you already have this new package then it will be tough to get the deal.

Yeah the woman I talked to the second time said they get a list from D* and they are basically "cold calling". They doont know who has the package until they look into the account when you talk to them.

I wonder if they will let you add HBO to this package. Seems like a very good deal.
