I know the ACC Network started off on DIRECTV's SportsPack at launch, but since it seems that AT&T and Disney have reached a renewed agreement since the ACC Network launched, does anyone know if the ACC Network is still available in the SportsPack only?

Originally the requirement for the ACC Network was:

In-Market: Included in Choice, Xtra and above also included in Sports Pack
Out of Market: Sports Pack or Premier

Note: In-market is defined as Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia.

However my friends that work at the local call center said their internal guidance changed after ACC Network was added to U-Verse, AT&T TV and AT&T TV Now and for DirecTV it now says:
Choice, Xtra or above or Sports Pack

For DirecTV it no longer says anything about in or out of market. The best thing to do is check channel 612 to see if you can view it without sports pack if you have Choice, Xtra or Ultimate if you are out of market. If you are in-market with Choice, Xtra or Ultimate you should have had ACC Network from launch without Sports Pack.

I have Premier so I personally can't answer your question :/

Thank you for the reply. I am out of market, but currently have the SportsPack so I have 612. I am not sure if I want to keep SportsPack (my 6 month free deal is ending), so I am curious if I will still have the ACC Network if I drop the SportsPack.

Based on the information you provided it sounds like I no longer need SportsPack and should get the ACC Network via the Xtra programming package.

My friend told me he would be reaching out for clarification but according to the updated guidance he told me about he said if I were to drop to Xtra I should keep ACC Network now as I'm out of market as well. However this page on AT&T's forums still has the old info from when ACC Network initially launched on D* which is providing conflicting information. Best I can say is when your free trial on the Sports Pack ends we will find out which is correct unless my friend gets back to me before then lol.

Or someone here who is out of market that has Choice, Xtra or Ultimate without Sports Pack can check 612 to see if they have ACC Network now.

My mother, who defiantly does not have the Sports Pack and is out of market for the ACC, did not get it at launch and now does get it. I have checked with two other non-sports fan friends and the same is true.

Okay I have gotten official word back from some friends that work at the local AT&T (formally DirecTV) O&O call center and here is the official availability of the ACC Network on AT&T video services (post Disney negotiations).
    • DirecTV: Nationally via Choice, Xtra, Ultimate & Premier base packages or with Sports Pack add-on
      • Family, Select, Entertainment, Preferred Xtra and all Grandfathered packages require Sports Pack add-on to receive ACC Network
    • AT&T TV: All trial markets via Choice, Xtra, Ultimate and Max base packages
    • AT&T TV Now: Nationally via Max, Choice, Xtra & Ultimate base packages.
      • Nationally via Grandfathered base packages Just Right, Go Big and Gotta Have It All.
    • U-Verse TV: Minimal base package depends on territory:
      • U200/U200LA in ACC markets: Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia (where U-Verse TV is available)
      • U300/U300LA: Non-ACC markets where U-Verse TV is available.
      • Not available in Grandfathered packages like U400

What I find interesting about this is that I have Xtra and I can manually tune to 612 but it does not show in my Guide, which is set to "Shows that I get".

Is 612 checked when you go to 'Settings/Favorite Channels/Channels I get'?

Go to channel 612, press INFO, scroll over to FAVORITES, scroll to “add to” whatever the name of your list is. That should add it to your guide.

You can't add channels to "channels that I get" which is what he's referring to.

    I did not know that.

Well then, time to set up a custom list. :)

It is indeed - but it will still be grayed out in the guide and he will have to set up manual recording from the channel, should the need ever arise to record.

It is a common glitch that some channels which you actually get are not found when you use “channels I get”, and the reverse glitch of a channel you don’t get being included also happens. Even if you don’t use that feature, you will see the channel in grey in the guide on some models.

What I do is this. I use “add channels I get” to set up the custom guide, then I go through and manually add channels I do get that are affected by this glitch, as well as delete some other things I don’t care for.

Saturday I was in a Buffalo Wild Wings 'ACC Out of Market' and asked to put on the ACC network, it was grayed out in the guide and the 'not subscribed error' came up. I find this very odd since they have all the sports channels offered including spanish soccer channels, all the major league out of market packages for all sports and they always show UFC and boxing pay per view stuff.

I complained to the manager asking why they don't get it, but I get it at home on DTV. Of course she wouldn't call DTV and made some vague 'pass the buck' comment about Corp HQ controlling the DTV service.

Just wondering why this would be, especially with the recent Disney agreement. Should I have instead suggested rebooting the receiver, or would there be a legit reason why they would not carry this sole channel (all the other Disney ESPN's, SEC, Longhorn Channel were up on other TV's)

Seems odd that commercial packages would of put that down as out of market as they tend to some of the sports pack non RSN stuff in the main bar packages.

I'm part of the Houston, TX chapter of an alumni club for an ACC school. We had to work with the bar where we do our watch parties to get them to add the ACC Network. I remember before a game they were on the phone with DirecTV because after they added the ACC Network they lost all their other ESPN channels. Weird.

Commercial public viewing accounts pay for conference networks separately, at $39.99 a month (well that's the price for BTN & SECN, so I assume ACCN is the same)

Maybe they just haven't added it to their corporate contract yet, but in general if you go to a sports bar/restaurant outside a conference network's region you shouldn't count on getting it (i.e. I've never added SECN or LHN)
