    And we're in!

Looks to be in a "fireside chat" format so that's cool.

Mentioned August for D11, more HD expansion.

Note that a lot of what's going to be talked about is financial related and I'm not going to post that suff.

Operationally nothing has really changed with Liberty in charge. Liberty is letting DirecTV continue doing what they were doing. (Sorry Tivo fans).
Liberty seems to be placing DirecTV as the centerpiece of their portfolio of media companies.

Under News Corp DirecTV may have been a bit constrained doing things that competed with other News Corp properties.

Not the case with Liberty as Liberty doesn't have those competing ventures and DirecTV is in the center of their world. Allows DirecTV more freedom to innovate and look at other things that make sense for their customers.

RBOC = Down to 3 = at&t (back to where we started in 1984), Verizon, and Qwest. Everything else is a bunch of cats and dogs independent Telcos.

    And that's it, all done.

Nothing earthshattering for us other then a more focused date of August for D11, which is better then "3rd Quarter" the last official statement I heard.

When they say whole home services by end 2008 or early 2009, I assume that they mean MRV? and not some new true whole house server system?

MRV or the infamous "whole house" DVR which would have something like 4 tuners and such. They've talked about this a lot in the last few presentations and on their big one back a few months ago they had 2009/10 planned for this so either he mispoke, I mistyped or they are ahead of schedule.

Or MRV will be the first "version" of it coming sooner and then the whole house dvr coming later.
