DirecTV Unveils VOOM Rebate Program

    Transitioning Subscribers Receive Discount on High-Def TV

    DirecTV issued a rebate program for existing VOOM subscribers
    who will inevitably be left without high-def TV service when the
    company goes dark at the end of this month.

    DirecTV said it would offer a $200 rebate to customers that
    either get an HD system installed or an HD digital video recorder
    (DVR) system. Both offers will include three months free of the
    DirecTV HD package.

    Other qualifying details included:

    *Just subscribe to one year of a HD programming package and
    activate DirecTV HD or HD-DVR

    *For new VOOM customers who purchase a DIRECTV HD package
    between April 15 and July 31

    *Proof of VOOM service required (copy of any invoice, service
    agreement, work order).

    *Proof of DirecTV activation required (copy of first month

    *Limit one per household

    *Offer ends June 30

    *Forms must be postmarked on or before Aug. 31
