Unfortunately frame rate is the one thing that the LGs do not report when you double click on the top left corner of the screen. You see resolution and color space and audio format but not frame rate which makes diagnosing issues like these frustratingly difficult on LGs. I wish all manufacturers would provide a menu option like “nerd stats” on YouTube videos that would allow us to figure out things like fps on videos being shown...

Yeah, that's a bummer that LG doesn't show frame rate data.

At least with Samsung we've been able to diagnose the video stuttering pretty well to figure out what was going on. We'd still be kind of lost if we hadn't seen what DTV was doing to the frame rates.

Indeed it does seem fixed. Not seeing the frame rate issue on my Samsung now.

ESPN To Broadcast Its First Sporting Event in Live Native 4K

Saturday's Florida-LSU college football matchup is the first in a planned six-game package of native 4K games

On Saturday evening, ESPN will make some company history as the network will televise its first sporting event in live native 4K. In a partnership with Samsung, ESPN will deliver its marque game of the weekend — a clash between No. 7 Florida and No. 5 LSU — in the format.

The production is the first in a six-game package of games (dubbed the “Samsung QLED 4K Game of the Week”) for the remainder of the season. In addition, there are plans to offer a 4K feed as part of ESPN’s popular Megacast during the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

“After months of planning and technical testing, we are excited sports fans can watch 4K UHD College Football games as part of the ‘Samsung QLED 4K Game of the Week’,” Jodi Markley, EVP, ESPN Content Operations and Creative Services said in an official release on Thursday. “As 4K technical resources and workflows become more readily available, we will continue to grow this standard across our operations. 4K images are stunning and we look forward to sharing them with fans.”

As of publication, DirecTV is on as a distributor of the game and viewers can access the broadcast on DirecTV channel 107. With the right television screen and set-top box, some viewers will even be able to see the game in 4K with high-dynamic range. If HDR is not available, the standard 4K feed will be viewable.

“It’s been a momentous year for us as we continue to innovate and deliver the best in sports in vibrant 4K HDR, and we’re excited to give college football fans even more content options with ESPN,” Tim Gibson, VP Video and Application Marketing, AT&T added in the release.

I wonder if they’ll stream it on the ESPN app?

Wonder if it will be real 4K or upscaled 1080p like all the other college and pro football games done in "4K" so far? My bet would be on the latter.

Frame rate stuttering has returned. Game is almost unwatchable when switching from a non 720p feed. Glad the fix still works.

Strange, received the new firmware update last week, and was able to view all 4K channels without issue this past weekend. Disappointed that I am again experiencing this annoying video issue.

TV is a Sony A1E OLED.

    1- ALCS - fox
    2- ND - NBC
    3- Florida LSU- ESPN

Is fox doing a college game as well ?

A user on dish said they had a fox college game loaded in the guide ...

If it's not a 1080p up conversion then the ESPN game will be our first native 4K college football game, right ?
