I had reported the problem where only 1 HD DVR showed up with the latest Direct2PC CE version (v5426).

After some experimentation...I determined that my DIR-655 router was set so that MAC addresses were not being used as network filters. That is the default setting.

Upon turning on MAC filtering, and then individually selecting all devices on my network to allow access based on their MAC address....

Now Direct2PC works fine with all HD DVRs here, and all show up in the dropdown.

So my conclusion is that if you have issues with your devices not showing up...check your router settings.

So like in post #12, it was the router. :D

Yes...only the MAC setting activation change on the DIR-655 is what seemed to do the trick.

I suspect you were also correct that the port settings may have changed...which is why I have used mine on "automatic" on everything for some time now.

The "interesting thing" is that for 4 previous D2PC versions...the settings were the same, and now all of a sudden with this version, they had to be changed.

So....I conclude that your theory about port use changes may have some merit. :D

Still no luck with this version, any attempt to play locks up the program and after killing the program I have to reboot to restore full network connectivity. It launches OK, I can work through the menus fine, but when I hit play on a program I get the spinning circle and that is it. This is with HD or SD programs and I have tried both HRs as servers.

This is a new PC since the last tests, but it is so far above the old one I cant see any performance issues. I will have to research the video specs, but if that was an issue I would expect an error message and not a lockup.

    [long shot]
Could this be router related? Locking up [hanging] the network was a problem for some in the early days. They'd lose internet connectivity.

I doubt its the router, it is the same as I had in the early testing. I was one of those with the problem early on but it was never right at launching the show. If the program locked up I was done and had to reboot.

All that has changed is the PC but I have gone from a 2.8 P4 with 1.5GB RAM to a 3.0 Core 2 Duo with 4GB RAM. Both are running XP Pro Video is the only question, I have Intels new onboard chipset designed for multimedia/HD - GMA X4500HD It definitly supports HD resolutions and HDMI, the only thing I cant find a firm answer on is support for HDCP. Audio is Realtek HD so I should be fine there.

While I see you doubt it, since you've changed PCs and both the 2.8 P4 & the 3 core 2 will both work with this software [and earlier versions] "logic" would sort of point to the problem being "something else", which seems to be network related.
I've been running all the versions for the past year on a P4, Dual core & Core 2 duo, with & without h.264 supported video cards. My dual core without HDCP support is the only one that this version won't play the newer HDCP recordings, but still plays the older non HDCP HD recordings.
From reading about intel problems, the GMA 3500 was giving users problems, but yours shouldn't.
With all the errors I've seen, it's never caused a lockup. It may not play a recording for various reasons [hardware/software related], but never locked up a PC.

All mine are still here/there. You might try a rebooting of the receiver and then a router reboot, if the receiver didn't resolve it.

It really can't be this version of DirecTv2PC.
    1) it's working here
    2) you have at least one DVR showing don't you? If not then look at firewalls/AV software.

Really would need to be a network type issue wouldn't it?

For grins, if this has never worked for you, uninstall and the reboot your PC and then re-install.

My HR21-100 is showing the HR20-700 showed up untill the CE last night just would never chane to it. Now the HR20-700 is not showing at all. On MRV my HR20 shows the HR21 but the HR21 will not show my HR20.

    Now you're  me.

DirecTV2PC uses different ports in my router than MRV does, so for me when one works and the other didn't, it came down to a router reset. [in this case DirecTV2PC worked, but MRV didn't and resetting the DVR didn't help]

Last night [three DVRs] one wouldn't share with the others, and rebooting it resolved it.

Just checked my laptop which is still on 5313 cand only the HR21 shows on it also. Did The reinstall and still only the HR21 shows. The HR20 shows in my network and it will play my media share.

I can not select a receiver while using the mouse, I alwsy have to use the keyboard to get it to change between DVRs.
