Once I get a new computer, I'll be back to testing DirecTV2PC, but that's still a few months away. :(

After playing several shows after the last CE it doesn't work now.
Gives me the no servers found screen.

DirecTV2PC started working again after the latest CE so Here's another report.

    -HR2x model/make: HR23-700
    -Recording type:Mpeg4 HD-SD
    -Channel number: 607 Speed
-Show information name/date/time: Inside Grand Prix
    -Plays on DVR: Yes
    -Other DVR streams: No
-Normal playback results: Fair & a little blocky, it's an HD channel with a European HD show but it's shown in SD with bars on all 4 sides, it is a much better picture than the G4 or BBCA shows were but not HD quality either.
-Trickplay results: very jumpy in all FF speeds

    ------Cut here------

    -HR2x model/make:HR23-700
    -Recording type:HD
    -Channel number:286
    -Show information name/date/time:World's Greenest Homes/23AUG08/10:30am
    -Plays on DVR:Yes
    -Other DVR streams:N/A
    -Normal playback results:Nearly Perfect
-Trickplay results:playback stops/hesitates and then responds to trickplay

    ------ Configuration ----
    -Friendly name for your computer:Michael-PC

    -Comments:
The playback is nearly flawless. I say nearly because there is the barely precepitable choppiness.

In most scenes you almost can't see it. I becomes more noticable in scenes where they pan across something....like from one side of the room to the other.

Did everyone who is part of the HR23 trial gets accepted into the DirecTV2PC trial as well?

I would like to be part of this. Is it as simple as just getting a copy of the software, or is there anything else I need to do to be able to test the DirecTV2PC on my HR23?
(I did fill out the form to originally get accepted into the DirecTV2PC trial)

If you get accepted, you get a special software license to use. The SW licnese is unique to each person.

There was also a test you had to download that showed if your computer could run the software.

Yes, I ran that tool and sent in my results. I wonder if something on my desktop didn't qualify.

I think Tom Robertson is running that program so you may want to PM him & see what he can do for you.

DIRECTV2PC launches in beta form, brings HD recordings to your local PC

Just saw this on Engadget, I didn't know it had gone public but I haven't been in the rest of the forums for a while lest I slip up!

    From Engadget

It's no HDPC-20 PC tuner, but it is a new way for DirecTV subscribers to enjoy content. As of now, the DIRECTV2PC beta has been opened, giving mettlesome souls the ability to stream HD recordings from their DirecTV Plus HD DVR receiver to a connected PC in the home. Unfortunately, this isn't a Slingbox-type application, as the programming can only be slung within your local (read: home) network, but thankfully, high-def recordings are transmitted as high-def. You'll need a potent PC to play things back smoothly, and you can watch shows on your PC while live or recorded shows are being viewed on the TV. Have any of you given this a go? If so, drop in your initial impressions below.

Update: Seems the link still isn't working -- c'mon DirecTV, what gives?

Does anyone know how to get this progress bar to go away during playback on the Directv2pc? It stays on screen during the entire playback when I'm using it.

If I don't touch my mouse it goes away.

The second the mouse moves or I touch the touchpad it comes back.

I wouldn't mind the trickplay comming up but everything else with it is a pain.

Now that the download is actually live which program should we be using?
The V4526 from the CE or the one from the DirecTV site?

Never mind, I just noticed the new software is the same as what I have now just a different numbering system.
