"Available only cable and satellite.... not DISH(w/ logo)" that's all over the channel during breaks. Where is this coming from? ....AMC getting back at DISH.

These contract disputes get really silly! ...... and like I said before, only the subcribers suffer, either by not having the channel(s) or higher $$$ statements in the end.:nono2:

I hope Dish does drop AMC and then watches as many of their subscribers jump ship to Directv. I foresee the minimum-wage employees to be let go first. Can't wait to see which Dish consultant will be fingered by the company big-wigs for this boner.

The exodus won't be nearly as great as all that. They might lose a few subscribers, but just not that many people will leave just to keep the AMC channels. There are likely some who have been toying with the notion of leaving, and this will push them over the edge, but that number will not be significant.

With all the alternatives (cable, FIOS, Universe) the number migrating to DirecTV will only be a part of the whole that are leaving.

According to the guy at my door Saturday they are "100% not going to drop them". We agreed to disagree.

Living in a market with 3 pro sports teams and a 4th an hour away If I could get them OTA like many used to, I'd probably drop pay tv altogether. I can't tell people drop Dish or BH anymore because Directv has been in heated negotiations that nearly cut off channels recently and so has Verizon. It's probably only going to get worse. Personally I don't care about AMC but I guess a lot of people do.

It would be much easier for you if you just cancelled DTV and signed up with Dish. Sounds like they got what you want and don't want.

Happy for the Uverse people that got settled.

Ah yes, I remember when the DISH people first got AMCHD and it was the bestest thing ever (because D* didn't have it). Amazing how much it has gone down in their estimation.

AMC Networks is claiming DISH has not made so much as a single counter-offer. No wonder they think this isn't really about rates.

If I was a Dish subscriber, I would rejoice. As a DirecTV subscriber, I watch the new channels more than I do the ones they dropped.

It isn't. Whatever their reasoning really may be (there are the VOOM feuds going on between the 2 companies), if it was about rates and negotiations would be going on, we would have seen a lot more mudslinging about "we are just trying to get a fair rate" from both providers. And except for AMC throwing a few desperate attempts on the air to please call Dish that you want to keep AMC, the decision was already made months ago, and Dish simply did not engage talks with AMC.

I was tempted to bump a two year old thread in which some DISH-nozzle gave me crap about how great AMC looked in HD on DISH to ask, "How's it looking this week?", but I resisted.

I agree, but the Ergen lapdogs in the Dish drops AMC (+WeTV, IFC & Sundance) thread like to dispute the point.
