People who are buying HR24s from Solid Signal ought to be knowledgeable enough to know that Directv stopped making new ones years ago.

And likewise, the company ought to be responsible enough to post accurate product descriptions instead of feeling the need to hide it under under a maze of links. What is the harm in doing that? Perhaps they should spend less time on that ridiculous "blog" and more time getting product descriptions fully disclosed.

Buyer beware at any website (including Amazon, etc). I'd make the "leased" disclaimer more prominent if it were my site - but it isn't my site. The most important disclaimers are only one click away (on the features tab for each receiver) when I visit the site.

That being said, Solid Signal is not the topic of this thread. The point has been made - lets move on.

That and the two year contract should be on the first page.

Search engines can get all kinds of users to a specific page. No special knowledge required. Those that know about contracts, activations, that the $199 is only for leasing (not owned) and refurbishment; and those that don't know these things.

Heck, I've read more than once on here that the DIRECTV CSRs told subscribers they can get additional equipment or upgrades w/o a contract extension.
