I have never been able to get TV Apps to work. When I choose TV Apps in the Menu or choose the right arrow on the remote, it always says "Loading TV Apps.. this may take a moment". Then about 30 secs later, it says "TV Apps is currently unavailable. Please try again later (1)." I can connect to Pandora, D* On Demand, etc., but not TV Apps. Any suggestions? or does TV apps simply not work?

They're mostly available at my house.
Have you rebooted the DVR and what model is it?

My TV Apps always work. Baseball season is over though, so their basically useless.

I had that problem on an H25 and a RBR did the trick. I like the weather app.

Their availability comes and goes. They are there more often than not, in my experience of late, but there are many times when I get the same response you mention.

If I were going to estimate, I'd say available 90% of the time.

I can get them to work on my one HR24 (but not the other) but only Sportsguide, Weather, Social TV, Whats Hot, and NFL show up. How do we choose other apps? I remember a few years ago, we could choose which apps we wanted and there were maybe 20-30 available to choose from.

Those are the apps. Period! Sometime ago, maybe a year or more, they were re-configured, cut down, and put into HD.

If that's all that D* will allow, then there's not much use for them.. other than checking sports scores for a few seconds or to get the weather forecast.

When there were maybe 20 or 25 to choose from, there were some good apps available for use. It was a year or 2 ago, so I don't remember any by name in particular, though.

The ones out there mainly show safe fries gun channels. Very few regular USA channels are on those applications.

I wish you could name at least one, because I did not find any one useful back then. Then the fact that half of them did not work and support for them stunk, that made them very unattractive

Is the weather channel local "red button" forecast considered a tv app? Do they even still offer this? Had the channel on the other day and the option never came up, and the STB didn't generate a local forecast on the 8s.

I rarely ever watch TWC so don't know if this might have changed recently or not.

'Crime Watch' was a good app that was dropped.
I checked it all the time to see what crimes where committed in my neighborhood.

The existing app can give pretty decent local weather and forecast. I am not a fan of TWC. (though they provide the data for the app, I believe.)

I have found that when my HDD is nearly full (<1%), I can't get apps to load. This seems to be more or less consistent. I'll check again when I get some more shows deleted.

WN weather red button still works for me, though.
