I hate Showtime because they have no hits. I've got TMC along with ENCORE in AT 250.

I subscribed to HBO for at least 5 years previous to last week, when I dropped it. I found I just wasn't watching it anymore, in part because D* has so many other good HD stuff to watch that's already in my basic package. When D* adds other HBO HD channels in September (or whenever), I'll take another look. Also, HBO has an exaggerated idea of their worth -- $14/month is just too much. I've spent a lot of time this weekend trying to find something I wanted to watch in the Premium package, and pretty much failing. I thought there must be something there ...

AH! Yes but shopping channels PAY to be on satellite so I don't think any provider would be crazy enough to get rid of channels that PAY their way on satellite.:sure:

    OH! Yea! Package:premier.:D

Plus HD-DVR with HD Extra Pack, Starz Superpack, and Showtime Unlimited here. Best deal for selection (in my humble opinion) and a good number of HD movie stations in both to boot.

Not worth it for me. They show the same movies over and over on those channels.

Starz and HBO here, but I've only found those channels worth it because of the HD, and the DVR. I had HBO before, but when ever I had time to watch, it was always playing crap. Now, I just go through the guide, and record movies I want to see, and watch them at my leisure. I get enough new movies every month to justify the cost for me. Very few movies are worth seeing in the theater these days anyway.

I have been wondering if it is worth it to move up to Premiere versus having just HBO, and Starz. Right now, with 2 DVRs, and the Total Choice Plus HD DVR (or whatever it's called these days) I pay about $101 and some change. How much more would it be to bump it up to Premiere?

I have the Premier package as well. Mostly keep HBO & Showtime for the original series and specials. I tend to watch more movies on Starz & Cinemax.

Nope. I don't have much time to spend watching movies, so the cheap Netflix subscription works for me.

In December, I picked up HBO, Showtime, and Starz to go along with my HD subscription. While it was nice, I really didn't watch it much over the last 7 months. I made the decision today to get rid of the movie channels. The $35 a month for the movie channels I didn't watch much of was just a little too much. I made the decision to get Netflix and rent blu-ray dvds if I wanted to watch movies.

I was just thinking before I saw your post that if you like the original programming like Dexter on Showtime then it might be worth it. I really do like that show but not enough to subscribe to Showtime.
