I use Direct2PC a lot but want to remove my bedroom receiver to save $6 a month. Can I also remove the $3 whole home fee and continue to use Direct2PC?

I asked the CSR, but I trust the people on this forum more. She wasn't technical but just a billing rep.

I've used DTV2PC for years and have never paid for whole home. I've only ever had one DTV receiver in my house at a time.

No. I was using Direct2PC long before having whole home installed.

Thanks for the information. It looks like if I ever want to get a second receiver again, I would have to pay $100 for them to send it out plus that $9 rental? I have a feeling they would send it out for free if I get a new 2-year contract.

They very well may. The Whole Home fee isn't required to have the second receiver, only if you want it to be able to access recordings on the DVR.

Even if you pay the $100, there will still be a 2-year commitment. The price you pay and the commitment are completely unrelated. But, it doesn't hurt to call up and ask what they could do for you.

Now my bill is $9 less a month . . rarely watched that tv and it was only a receiver not DVR. And Netflix is only $8 a month .. can add that in that room instead. :)

$9 rental fee? unless you meant the $6 lease fee + $3 whole home fee but I'm on the same boat also with all those reality shows they have nowadays, they just create more cord cutters.

You do not need whole home service for directv2pc to work. Absolutely not. That was out long before whole home came out. Typically billing isnt good at answering non billing questions as they lack the training. Your better off asking for technical.
