    Folks,

I understand that the new DSWM30 multiswitch does not allow whole home communication across its ports.
My question is, can I plug my receivers (mostly HR24) directly onto my home network via their Ethernet ports to allow whole-home?

    Thanks

Ethernet is how my HR20, HR24 and HR54 has been connected since whole home came out. I always had 3-4 receivers connected this way. Now down to HR54 and HR24 and still works fine. Phasing out directv though since way more flexibility using apps on AppleTVs.

I have more than 15 tuners. Sharing works on each port. Sharing across those ports is what doesn't work.

I was thinking about this some more. I am currently running a pair of SWM-16. So, in effect each SWM-16 is similar to each leg on a DSWM30.
So, on each SWM-16 I have a DECA Broadband adapter. I assume that this is how my receivers can share programs.
I wonder if I can do that on the DSWM30 by adding a DECA broadband adapter on each SWM leg.

That’s my setup too, a DECA on each SWM leg, running CAT5 back to my router to share whole home. I’ve got 29 tuners though, and receivers fall off the network every other week or so, so I have to reboot them every once in a while to get them back up.

I would install a switch next to the SWiM box and run just one RJ-45 cable to your router instead of burden to run 16 cables !

    ?

There’s only two cables running to my router, one CAT5 from each DECA, not 16.

    I though you have 16 DECAs ...
