VPALLARI, do you have a Slimline dish currently? If so, and you will have less than eight tuners, then why not install a swm lnb yourself? Just swap out the one you have now and connect the cable. If you will have more than eight, install the additional cables necessary to total four. The installer won't have to get on the roof then.

Would he land more softly if he fell off of a ladder from the same height? Personally, I feel a whole lot more secure installing a dish while standing on a roof than I would if I were doing it from a ladder.

I choose to "violate" the rule, not the customer. As far as I know, he was not aware of such rule existed

Absolutely! I hate working on a ladder. After a few minutes, your feet and chins start to hurt. I always prefer working from a roof and not the ladder

Right on! OSHA says that I am supposed to wear a hard hat on a attic even if its 140 degrees up there...... :nono2:

I choose that my noggin gets some air and take the chances of getting scratched by a nail... ouch....

Oh now, I have never criticized anyone's grammar here before! That was just a joke I could not resist because the typo was funny.

Yes, and it will be your company getting either a $7,000 fine, or if identified by OSHA as a repeat offender, $70,000.

At our shop we can be written-up or fired for leaving our ladder without proper supervision. Quality Control is also on the lookout for this, and we can get in trouble after the fact also.

I won't risk my job so someone else can watch tv.

Hey Peds.... Shins and feet hurt...

That's what shanks in boots are designed for. Find a good pair of boots and those pains will go away. Also, your 4/1 ratio on your ladder placement will eliminate some of that as well.

OSHA guidelines do have just a touch of logic/science behind them.

I think Goblazers is playing with us. Everything listed is wrong, Triple sat while a valid description of a SL3 is more commonly used to describe the old Phase 3 dish for 101, 110, and 119. SWM16 for 5 tuners? Would work but a waste, HR24 with DECA? I think it would work but why? HR24 with BSF? I suppose you might want to keep one off the network but in his setup it would be easier just to not share the playlist from the other HR24. H20 with DECA? an H20 on a SWM does need a BSF and a DECA would act as one but why?

Nothing helps. is just "nature" your entire body plus the weight of the tool belt is supported on just a 2 inch wide rung. your body weight is supposed to be supported on your heels and toes and NOT in the middle of your feet

I just heard same story from my installer. My dish is only located 12 ft from the ground. It was easily accessible before the screen enclosure was installed. Now you would have to walk overtop of roof to get to the Dish. My installer was only here to add a genie client. But he noticed my dish aim wasn't as good as it could be.

He called his mgmt. They said no. He said to get on roof he needed safety harness, etc. etc. etc.

He also suggested I call private contractor or have new dish installed somewhere else. I told him I would live with the aim being slightly less than perfect.

H20 doesn't have an Ethernet port.... And it wouldn't ever act as a BSF

A DECA can be used as a BSF
