Family wants to rent a movie. We have never done this due to redbox being a buck. Feeling lazy.

1st question. how long is it on your dvr?
2nd can you veiw it elsewhere via whole home?

    Thanks

What channel are you trying to get the movie from? Is it from the pay per view area from 125-195 or are you using on demand/watch now?

Two different things there. On demand is going to download the movie and put it in your list(unless it's pushed to the receiver which means it's already there but will then become available once confirmed). Once in your list it would be available through whole home. If it is on a channel number between 125-195 it will only be available on the receiver you order it from, unless you order it online or through D*. On demand rentals are usually 24 hours and most pay per view orders for movies are 48 hours(24 hours plus the number of hours until 6am the following morning).

I think the 24 hour time limit is from the time you start watching it, not from when you download it.

Even on those channels in a whole home system and was recorded it can be played on other receivers in the home. Can on mine I do it all the time from both the 100 range PPV channels and the channel 1100 OD.
