E! HD will be available on DTV starting April 25th
I rarely watch E! but I checked it out when I knew the HD feed lit. I noticed the same thing, "soft" picture, a little blurry. Perhaps it's a source issue with E!'s feed.JACH said:Doesn't anyone else think the HD picture is soft? I immediately noticed this on thursday night while True Hollywood Story - Giuliana Rancic was on. The pic was consistenly soft throughout the program. Then I checked Chelsea Lately and the quality was the same. Wasn't bad but a significant difference between E! HD and other HD channels.
I can do a fios compare but right now there is a show from 2004 on and it looks crappy on both. The bug looks the same..."Davenlr" said:Not sure about that, but the channel on Xfinity is much sharper than the one on D* doing a A/B comparison. Especially noticeable in the corner bug.
Nevermind, there is a bug in the HR34. Even with Hide SD Duplicates turned on, the damn DVR was still tuning to the SD version of E!. After I edited the favorites list to remove the checkmark on E! SD, and added the checkmark to E! HD, the channel looks a lot better now on D*, but its still a tad bit fuzzier than Xfinity.
Yeah me n the gf too, we've never watched it before cuz D*'s SD lite looks worse than a 1950s kinescope. Ditto with The Soup, funny stuff.SPACEMAKER said:E! looks pretty good in HD. I watched some Chelsea Handler last night and even laughed a couple of times.
I saw that E! True Hollywood Story as well. I know your talking about PQ, but I could not pull myself away from watching it. She's a sweet & funny person.JACH said:Doesn't anyone else think the HD picture is soft? I immediately noticed this on thursday night while True Hollywood Story - Giuliana Rancic was on. Yeah, you should change yours too now since E! HD is up.Tele-TV said:I like your new avatar.
I agree adding E!HD does make people enjoy it to some extent but gossip news gets tiring and annoying plus THE DAMN KARDASHIANS... But is better than crappy SD so ADD MORE HD...TheRatPatrol said:See......having channels in HD does make more people watch them. Hint hint, keep adding basic HD D*.
Except it looks better on Comcast than DirecTv right now. Not THAT big a difference, but there is a difference.cypherx said:What other channels are on this transponder? If the other 5 networks look soft, we know its a 6:1 compression issue. If not, then its most likely a E! source feed issue. Blame Comcast.
Their original shows are all in HD.lyradd said:E! might be in HD now but looking at the guide for 2 weeks I see zero programs that are in HD. There is no HD logo on any program on E!HD.
Joan Rivers in HD :eek2: Only thing worse would be Joan Rivers in 3D.Rob said:Joan Rivers in HD tonight.
6 HD channels is new, we've had 5 HD and 1 SD for a while, but new (expensive) technology on the ground can provide more with less at the same quality these days.charlie460 said:6 channels on 1 transponder is new, right?
Lack of a logo is not always reliable."lyradd" said:E! might be in HD now but looking at the guide for 2 weeks I see zero programs that are in HD. There is no HD logo on any program on E!HD.
Directv sure wasted space getting E!elvisotisc said:E You can't be serious! Nobody watches that trash. Where is TCM in HD? You guys are so behind, when it comes to other providers.
I totally agree on this. There is nothing there to watch. From the guide we have "ice loves coco" and Joan Rivers. I will stay with the Science channels and "me-tv" ota for now.Paul Secic said:Directv sure wasted space getting E!
