OTA switch-over... yeah I thought of that after I posted and edited my post, but DirecTV should not be affected. If they are taking away SD DNS from those of us grandfathered, I would think they would have sent out notices long ago like they did for HD DNS. Especially since we are paying for SD DNS.

I would have thought that D* would have switched over those channels to the digital feeds along time ago since they have been running dual and I don't beleive any of them are going to switch the current digital feed to another channel.....

Just my thoughts but do not know....

Actually everyone is affected. The question is to what degree. D* gets their feeds from the stations in some way shape or form. Down here at least a couple of the stations are switching/changing/modifying frequencies, and I suspect that the stations that they get their DNS feeds from need to make modfications as well.

I think that the east coast feeds are gone because they will be the first ones to switch on 6/12. West coast will probably be gone for a while after the east coast comes back, so that they can make sure that the channels are working properly.

That said, I don't have the national feeds, and I'm anxiously awaiting Friday to see what happens with my locals, especially the ones that I know are changing frequency.

I receive the channels but can not record on the channel. That is the funny part.

I set up a recording just for giggles. I got a warning that the program "might not record" because "the channel is not authorized". But the program recorded just fine.

My problem with no recording is on both HR21 & HR20 with the newest software downloaded last night.

What unit are you trying it on?

I bet you see a little higher charge for it on your next bill.

It's an HR-21-100 with 0x312, also downloaded last night.

As of now, the DNS channels are no longer greyed out on this unit, nor on my HR-20, running 0x214 since April.

I was reading over at mutichannel news that dish would be adding the HD DNS feeds to dish customers when the analog channels are turned off,any chance directv will switch our feeds to HD, rather than take off the sd network channels?

Just refreshed my receivers and the NY locals are no longer greyed out. Must have been an upgrade glitch, I hope.:)

Are the DNS channels currently feed as analog to *D? If they are that is hard to believe in this day of digital. Remember that on Friday the analog stations are only going to digital, not HD. There will still be digital SD broadcasts and I would assume that this would not affect the DNS SD channels at all regarding broadcast content.

HD DNS can be down converted to give us SD users what we need.
