I'll check out a similar thread in a moment, but with the Genie I will enter say, 244 for Syfy channel, and nothing happens. It stays on the channel I'm on. Sometimes it will work on the second try, sometimes the third, and rarely I will have to bring up the guide and scroll to the channel to change it.
Haven't seen you respond, but did you try hitting enter like I posted about back in post #7? Enter is on the bottom right, not the select button in the middle.
No, I don't. I'm sure it would work but I'm not looking to press any more buttons than necessary, especially one all the way on the bottom right which causes me to drop the friggin' remote!!! :eek2:
Well, having to enter the channel number multiple times seems like you'd be hitting a lot more extra buttons than needed, instead of just hitting the enter button once, ha ha ha. Also, the enter button tends to make the channel change a bit quicker (it changes as soon as you hit enter, rather than waiting to see if you are done entering numbers).
As far as dropping the remote I find that if my hand is positioned to be using the number buttons, it usually has a good enough grip to hit the enter button too, although I use Harmony One and Harmony 650 remotes not the DirecTV remotes (enter is still on the bottom right on them too).
