I wonder how much that cost.
LMAO that's the very first thing I thought..
Things that are using energy 24/7/365 SHOULDN'T even be a candidate, and other than the satellites DirecTV's entire operation uses HUGE amounts of energy 24/7/365
Got anything to back up that claim?
That's rediculous. If you have a type of device like a DVR that runs 24/7 and you come up with a way for it to use way less electricity than most/any of the other similar devices you are saying it isn't more energy efficient, and the designers hard work to do such a thing shouldn't be rewarded?
The fact is the EPA set a certain power usage rating for DVRs to have to meet to be Energy Star rated. DirecTVs newer DVRs meet or exceed those power ratings.
My refrigerator runs 24/7 and is Energy Star rated.
Notices Racer88 hasn't answered Hoosier205s question. :sure:
Actually, it doesn't - it cycles.
As for anything related to the EPA, I couldn't care less.
Could this possibly slow the rising of the oceans, and give us a reprieve from extinction of the human race? If so, kudos to DirecTV.
