Verizon only has Epix 1 for now. It is $10/month if you get it ala carte. But it's included in their highest tier triple play bundle, which is why I have it. What makes the channel nice is the VOD library. They routinely have over 150 HD movies on demand. They also have an on-line streaming service which I use from time to time. Then again, Epix signed a deal with Netflix, so if you're ok with waiting for 6 weeks after release of a movie, you can stream it on Netflix instead.

Correct - not to get OT, but Verizon's top tier includes Showtime and The Movie Channel. Epix is added in if you bundle your services (get the triple play). Otherwise I think it's ala carte, even if you have their top tier. HBO, Cinemax and Starz are all extra.

I am thinking that having Directv is a mistake, we been with them since 2007...we are done with contracts. We first subscribed to it because of the HD, With the drop of G4tv which was really cool to watch but, they saw it not being profitable for them I was disappointed.

Then Directv's made news again, for customers that pay for their service they were thinking that it's not worth getting Epix as a channel. After missing out on a lot of movies that didn't make it to the Pay channels: HBO, Max, Showtime and Starz, I was further disappointed to watch them with commercials and censored on Basic.

Dish has this channel and seriously thinking of getting it for the channel. Slow receivers, Mis-informed CSR and Directv not spending the money back on their customers for their loyalty of subscription service instead they give a discount for which sometimes we don't have to get; Sunday Ticket.

It's depressing to turn on this service which we get the Ultimate package and find nothing, NOTHING to watch...how sad huh? paying all that money and a few days a month find nothing worth watching. Don't wanna pay for some games and don't wanna pay for some PPV movie. Pay a lot of money and they enjoy it. I guess that's how life is.:mad::mad::flaiming

You are going to just love DISH's Equipment fees.

With the Hopper/Joey combo, equipment fees are in line with what D* charges, so why would you think he wouldn't?

    $10 for DVR+MRV (actually $1 less than D*)
$7 for lease fee on all units after the 1st. ($1 more than D*)

I'd like to see Epix on D* also because of the European boxing they show. Throw it into the HD Extra pack and charge $10 for that instead of the $5 for the sparsely populated package as it exists now.

Very true... until Hopper. As the previous poster said, fees are now essentially the same as DirecTV.

Epix HD looks great BTW. If you hate Dish, then FIOS, Cox and a few other cable systems have them as well.

The only available cable company that has conquered here is Time Warner and they don't have Epix at all. But, from the looks of Dish's new Hopper and what's available for HD isn't all that bad. Considered it a though.

Epix is about to start airing some original series, too, I believe.

You know what I'd like to see one of these premium channels do. Take off one of the channels playing the same movies over and over and do something no other network really does anymore. Air old programs UNCUT for additional commercial time. I'd pay to see that. It can't hurt to try and see how successful it could be.

I spent the last 2 days at my daughter's condo. She has FIOS and EPIX. I watched THOR and Iron Man 2. Tomorrow night they have Captain America. This doesn't look like a bad channel.

I've had it before when I had FIOS. It's fine. Not a big movie person so I can't say it has a better selection than the others but they had some good stuff.

Sort of, but even with their ridiculousness of taking 35-40 minutes for a half hour sitcom, aren't they still airing the ones that have like an extra 2 minutes chopped off of them thanks to FCC allowing of more commercials a few years ago? I'm talking about airing the original, uncut versions of the shows. If TV Land does this, then yes like TV Land but without all that bs. Like I said, they could experiment with a variety of things. Old sitcoms, old dramas, old Soul Train, old American Bandstand, Dark Shadows, etc.

Also if you wanna keep Epix after the free trail select a provider that currently has Epix on their service and you will ge to keep Epix, When I signed up for the free trail I selected Dish as my provider and they didnt ask for any log in info and this was 6 months ago and Epix still works on my roku, They also have a live channel as well on the roku.

When it snows in June and July then you can be sure we'll get more basic HD channels from DTV.

Seeing how it's winter in Austrailia during those months and it does snow in Victoria, Tasmania, and New South Wales at that time of year then we should be getting more basic HD channels from DirecTV. :)
