More HD is good HD, I would like to see at least 1 of the EPIX channels added. Why not, we have 2 HBO's, 2 Starz, 2 Sho...well, you get the point. What is the value of a West feed in the 5 tuner PVR age??

Just 1 of the EPIX channels has more value than 2 of the same HBO channels was my point. It is more HD...right?

You're right. That's my bad. Should have pointed out what my base was. (Although before I upgraded to that level, they gave me Epix for half off for 12 months.)

DVR receivers, and especially whole-home DVRs are not ubiquitous. People in-the-know have posted numbers. Sites like this skew to the high end feature-wise.

True, but they are becoming more common. The numbers are nearing 50%.

Which is as good a illogical reason as any I suppose! :)

When I recently switched to Dish, I told them it was specifically because I wanted Epix and Reelz HD. Got to tell them that 4 additional times, including an additional time on the day I cancelled in their attempt to 'win me back'! I found that hilarious!

And of course, a slew of emails with all the same 'come back' stuff.

    Unbelievable!

    I don't really Hate Dish.:)

I would switch if a better deal came along, But I like my Whole home system better then what I could get with Dish without spending money on 3 hoppers.

I don't like the constant channel battles either with Dish, Plus they don't have any NY RSN's so thats a downfall for me.

But for Directv , or People who claim Directv says Epix is a waste, well I can list a fair number of channels I pay for that I don't want as a waste too.

But I'm a realist, I know not everyone likes the same things. Others don't feel the same!

I don't see the need to add Epix since there's several ways to get its programming without having cable or satellite. All you need is a Netflix or Amazon Prime account and you can watch every movie in Epix's library. Changing providers just to get Epix sounds kinda odd to me where there's other routes you can go to get it and get other benefits by doing that. Unless you're that unhappy with you're provider, it just seems kinda pointless when you can watch them on demand thanks to Epix's streaming deals.

I don't hate either of them, and I'm already missing Showtime Extreme HD with Dish. I hope D* keeps adding channels that I would want 'cause then if I decide to switch again at some point, I'll have it all while saving some bucks.

Just checked out Hunger Games, which is showing on Epix this month.

Netflix doesn't have it to stream, Amazon will let you buy it, but not rent it. Yeah at some point it will show up in streaming, but then lots of movies do eventually.

Yes, the only exception is the window for newer releases. Once that period of time passes, they will be available to stream as well. It weakened an already weak offer to providers. The folks behind Epix created a network that's time had already passed.

And yet they have 10 million subscribers.

And after a period of varying time, nearly every movie will show up on Netflix or Amazon as part of their subscription.

No. Not until they add content that can compete with what the other premiums offer.
