DirecTV was working fine and then at 9:00 pm all 7 receivers went out with a 775 error. Unplugged the gray 29 volt SWM unit for a minute and then plugged it back in and the channel came back on for about 10 seconds and then went out again and I haven't been able to get anything back since that time on all receivers. I suppose that means the gray SWM unit has bit the dust? Just had the multiswitch replaced last Saturday. Not having much luck lately.

Possible, power Inserter plugged directly into the wall? Is PI close to the multiswitch? Or is there multiple cable and connectors in between?

Yes plugged directly into outlet. It is not close to the multiswitch. PI is in the house. Multiswitch is under the house. Not multiple cable or connectors between them.

Once again Get rid of the SWM-16 & replace your LNB with a RB_LNB --and go single wire -all the way

Every tech they send out insists I have too many tuners for that and they will not do it.

Offer them 50 bucks if it doesn’t work. It will.

All of the techs coming to his house are insistent the RB LNB will only support 13 tuners and he has 14. He also can’t access his dish to just change himself.

No I'm really not. I know a lot of the people on this forum know a lot about this service and how it works and how to fix their own system. I am not one of them. I rely on the techs they send out. The one tech did put a reverse band LNB on it and unhooked the multiswitch but the receivers did not work afterwards so he had to put the old LNB back on and hook up the multiswitch.

And since last night I have not been able to contact DirecTV support either by chat or phone. The message is high wait times due to closure of call centers. On chat it just says high wait times and to try back later and then your chat session is done. I was on hold last night and today after about 30 minutes and then they disconnect. So I am without DIRECTV service for a long while it appears.

Did your tech -Bring each receiver up one at a time? after the change -or did he just plug everything in power it up and go --That's why it didn't work -The Tech gets paid by the JOB -$25 -The suggestion of a cash offer can get more done !

Here is Picture of my RB-LNB

Long wait times for everyone right now, techs are even on hold for 3+ hours trying to close jobs out.

He would have tried that if I had known to start them up one at a time when he was there. From what I've learned since that time I think the older HR-24's need to be started up first as they can't get the tuners past 13 but the Genie can. He did just start them all up at the same time. Right now I can't get anyone out here.

it doesn't matter what order they come up in as long as it's One at a time --Let the receiver power up till a TV picture is displayed -then move to the next one

You have to start them sequentially or you will have problems. Damn shame the installer didn't know that simple fact.

Once upon a time I held the designation of Technician. Bothers me when that word is used for these guys. But it's easier to type "tech" than "installer".
