Since the service came back in would agree. Has to be a moisture problem in a connector somewhere I think. Although we got a pretty good rain last night and it never went out again.

Unless your SWm 16 is laying on the ground under the BSM'T -I woulds suspect and RG6 Connections Outside -Like where the Ground block is or outside the LNB conccections if any.

SWM 16 is under the house but it is attached to a floor joist so not lying on the ground. Supposed to be nice out tomorrow so I'm going to check all RG6 connections I can get to outside.

I’d ask them to come out and... swap the lnb for the 22 one.. and replace all barrel connectors that are outside and any that don’t seem perfect inside. I’d also inspect the wire coming from the dish to the place the splitter will be as well.

Since my service returned last Saturday night it was working fine until 1:00 pm today when I lost all receivers with the 775 error. We haven't had any kind of rain or severe weather in the last 5 days. The last two days were sunny and dry in the 60's during the day and only dropped into the 50's at night. Below are the swm 16 and the 4 way power splitter and the 8 way splitter. This is not wired the way the previous swm 16 was wired. There were more wires plugged into the swm 16 before it was replaced with this one. Also the installer did not have the HR-54 plugged into the the power port on the 4 way splitter. I do now have it plugged into the DC Power Pass out port but the system is still not working. Still getting the 775 error on all receivers. Also the line from the PI29 is plugged into the 8 way splitter. Looking for suggestions and I do have a "tech" scheduled out for Sunday afternoon but would like to at least get this working tonight.

Connect the PI-29 -RG6 to the DC port of the SWM16 --The port between when the rg's go to the Splitters -Leave the 54 where it is -- and yes the 4 lines are from the LNB- Does that change anything?

When your Tech arrives --Unplug all receivers and Have him install a RB LNB run a fresh line from the dish to a 2way-splitter --The lnb goes to the single port on the 2way --each leg of the 2way -goes to an 8-way splitter --The PI-29 Connects to Port One of the 8-*way to power the lnb - then connect all your other RG6's to the Spare ports on Both 8ways

Then Go into the house and Power up One receiver at a time till you get a TV picture.

Tell the Installer you've GOT $20 buck to wire it that way --NO matter what he says.

If everything works --More than $20 if you thinlk he/she is worth it!

OK I plugged the PI-29 into the DC port on the swm 16. I got everything back except the C61K which is plugged into the PI-29. It won't connect and says the wired connection lost.

If your Using the IRD port of the PI-29 --That's why it's doing that --Connect it to any spare port any of the SWM Spliiter and you should be good

    Posting Pictures Was Very Helpful

Not sure I understand. What is the IRD port? The plug on the PI-29 currently goes to the the swm16 DC port. The other cable from the PI-29 goes to the C61K. If I unplug the cable going to the swm16 DC port I lose all receivers.

That Other Port --is for IRD (or) Receiver --It should NOT be used for that un-hook that cable and Connect it to a Spare port on the SWM Splitter --Remove one of the CAPS and then place that cap on the port you unplugged the c61 from.

On My PI-29 it is Marked On port says PWR -- other port says -Signal to IRD --DO NOT remove the PWR lead side

In the old days Before internet-Whole home -& Genie's --That port could be used without a problem

The PI-29 is in the room with the TV with the C61K about 30 feet away from the SWM16 and that is the only cable in that room. One cable from the PI-29 goes to a wall plug that has a cable that runs to where the SWM16 is at. So you are saying to to take the PI-29 out of that area and plug the C61K into that wall plug and move that plug at the SWM16 to an open port on the splitter. That way the C61K will be plugged into the splitter. Then I would need to move the PI-29 to where I can get a direct connection to the DC port on the SWM16 and then the other port (IRD) would not be plugged into any receiver? Sorry but I did say I don't know a lot about the sat setup and I am proving it now.

THE PI-29 SHOULD ONLY have ONE cable Attached -PWR FEED-ONLY -The Other Port Which (NOW) is Connected to the C61K --SHOULD HAVE NO CABLE ATTACHED.

The wire in the Wall --(NOW) powers the SWM-16 -- (however) you want to do it ---The C-61K -needs to be RUN to the Swm-8 Splitter -- NOT the way it is connected now!

You need to the PI 29 -Some where you can get a RG6 from the power port to the DC power port of the SWM16
Then Use the RG6 (where ) the PI & the C61K are located NOW --Just for the C61k.

The Cable (outside) attached to the SWM16 Power port --MOVE that to Spare PORT (outside) to the Swm 8 Splitter- and that will then connect to the c61K -(in the room) where it is NOW.

OK I will try that tomorrow or Saturday when I get time. Dark here now. I can do without the C61K for now since all the rest are working.

And then like you suggested I am going to try to get the tech to install a RB LNB. One question on that...If I get the RB LNB, do I still need the PI-29 at all? I though it just needed the HR-54 to power the RB LNB?

The HR54 -Will Power the LNB ----If you can Keep the PI-29 and power it that way --Should you ever LOSE the HR54 --Like it goes dark dead --All your TV's will be dead -till it's replaced. (your Choice)

WestDC....thank you for your help. This morning I wired it as you suggested and all is working now which is great since the appt. for tomorrow was canceled by AT&T. I'll have to wait and reschedule or do the RB LNB myself later.

WestDC did good! As usual. I don't think what he did was easy, what with not being able to put eyes and hands on the system.

What a wonderful site this is. Where else could you go and get such a problem so easily resolved?
