I searched the forum but couldn't find anything newer than 2012. I have a Hopper3, which I'm pretty sure has an eSATA port on the back. I'm thinking about replacing my old 500GB EHD with a shiny new 2TB drive, and there's a $34 difference between one with eSATA and without. If I spend the extra bucks, can I use it on the eSATA port for improved performance (and free up a USB port) or should I bag it and get the cheaper one (https://www.amazon.com/Fantom-Drive...r+hard+drive+2tb&qid=1574369717&s=pc&sr=1-4)?

I don't see an eSATA port on my H3.

I think all the external ports are USB2.0 only.

"pretty sure" doesn't count here ;)

My mistake. No wonder I didn't see any posts later than 2012. I know there used to be one (Hopper 1?). But they must have stopped putting them in.

DISH is USB only (and I have one of the first Hoppers - the Hopper 2000). Perhaps you're confusing with DIRECTV's ESATA connections?
