There are a few threads about this already but we don't know. The majority of us think DIRECTV will start carrying it on the 30th or within a few days after that.

I've been counting down this channel since the first round of HD releases. We all hope it will be ASAP.

Well I went through several pages and didnt see anything ... please show me where it is? I don't have all day to go through 100 pages. i figured after 2-3 pages it could be asked again without getting whacked.

3/30 is a Sunday. Correct me if Im wrong but I don't believe D* has ever launched a new channel on a Sunday. Have they?

Has any company said yet that they will carry it on the 30th? I just seen a commercial on ESPNEWS saying it would start in HD on March 30th 8am. So someone has to be carrying it. I am thinking it will be DIRECTV.

Sorry for the stupid question if this has already been asked and answered BUT...

Does anyone know what channel number ESPNews HD will be on D*? Will 207 be 2 channels (1 for hd & 1 for sd)?

    Thanks

DirecTV has launched channels on Monday so it's possible we could see it on Monday if not Sunday. Not that hard to launch a channel.

I wrote D* last week and got the obligatory reply:

Thanks for taking the time to write us.

We don’t have a definite schedule yet but we’re expecting to bring you even more HD channels in the near future. Please stay tuned to directv.com/hd to keep up with the latest HD news.

I'm hoping they add the four new (Disney Owned) HD channels by Wednesday, April 2nd (what's D* fascination with Wednesday's?), but who knows. The good news is you'll be able to get a 30 min. preview of ESPNews on ESPN2 at 11:30/8:30 a.m. and 11:30/8:30 p.m. ET/PT on the 30th.

I think its going to be Sunday why would ESPNews launch there channel on Sunday there must be some kind of agreement with Directv for them to launch on Sunday. Makes no sense to have a launch when there are no viewers. As far as I know Directv is the only provider that has an agreement with ESPNewsHD.

Did ya'll miss the article i referenced?

with only 3.2 mil subs at launch, there is no way that D* is included in those numbers. Only the family package doesn't include ESPNews and D* has more than 3.2 million HD subs.

I have to give in now that SatRacer's April 2nd is the date, if not later
