Why did ESPNUHD and ESPN Classic change channels? 208 - 614. I don't mind it that much but why did they? Does anybody know why?

Probably because ESPN Classic is Sports Pack now and ESPNU isn't. And also because ESPNU is HD.

It has to do with what package they are offered in. ESPN Classic is now in the Sports Pack, so it's more logical for it to be placed in the 600s. Not really sure why they waited so long, though.

It probably has nothing to do with being in HD, just sayin'.

They say size matters, in cable/satellite services channel location matters. Chances of someone clicking over 208 increases dramatically than in the 600's. Is there no wonder QVC and HSN prefer to stay in the 200's than the 300's, where other shopping channels are located. Also, ESPN main channels are located in the same channel local.

Also makes more sense because there's, obviously, loads more live sporting events on ESPNU than ESPN Classic (and much higher viewership levels eventually if not already)...will be a lot easier flipping channels during college football/basketball seasons not having ESPNU relegated to the 600s while ESPN Classic serves up the millionth, hacked-to-pieces re-run of a '70s NBA game.

It also has a lot to do with the fact that ESPN Classic is currently an after thought with ESPN and little viewed. ESPN would rather have their premier channels grouped together than a little viewed fringe channel sometimes used for overflow content. There's also been lots of speculation that ESPN will be repurposing ESPN Classic, but they don't seem to have a clear vision of what they want it to become.
