Another remote possibility: could you have set the link for a distant network channel instead of a local?

No, like I said, for some reason it is showing next week's episode as marked to record.

I think, as someone suggested, I will just delete the series and then re-set it for a series recording. If it was consistent, as in it never recorded an episode, I could imagine some logical reasons. But the fact that it treated the last 3 episodes as if they did not exist (not marked to record, did not record, did not show up in the History as skipped or canceled) and then it shows next weeks episode as scheduled to record is just screwed up.

Just another thing you might try is to flush the guide after you delete the current series link. I believe two restarts within a 30 minutes period will accomplish that for you. You will have to wait until the guide repopulates to reset the series link but you have plenty of time.

I've had no issues recording “Scorpion" as a series link on my HR34-700.

Good luck and keep us posted.

For how long does a reset flush mess up your currently set up series recordings? I.e. i do a guide flush, then an hour after that I have 3 shows previously set up to record - since the guide is repopulating, will they be missed?

Very likely not. The Guide repopulates the near time shows almost immediately, so they get recorded if there's a notation to do so (either SL or individual record note)

At the same time, doing it with more lead time could be safer.

I've done one within a couple of hours of a recording and the recording went off without a hitch. That being said, I'd prefer to do an early morning or late night flush to give it time to stabilize.

Let us know if it helps you.

Id say probably need to be back to live tv within 30 minutes of a show starting.
