    Hi All
I am confused. Can someone tell me how to hook up a external sata ssd drive. I look the enclosure up on Amazon and Newegg and they all say "usb". I would guess that the usb is for the 5 volt to power the ssb, but nothing is said about the esata connection. How do you do it?

Well the enclosure has to have an esata connector and then it connects from there to the DVR via an eSata cable. Not sure if you can use the USB port on the DVR to power an external HDD. I think you would need an external enclosure that you can plug in. This is the one I am using on my HR24.

OK, you just forget about the USB connection and run only a esata to sata cable. Is that correct? the Vantec looks fine.

You can't use a USB drive. Must be eSATA connection.

I will use a ssd drive so sata is the only way to go, I just couldn't see how it would interface with the DVR. Amazon and Newegg only talk about USB.

Any external device with an eSATA port should work. Lose the idea of using the USB ports.
