I have successfully copied to DVD many shows from my HR20. Just hookup the DVD Recorder to your HR20 using the video outputs as some have mentioned and use the Play function on the HR20 and then hit record on your DVD Recorder (on the old D* Tivos, there was a menu choice to record to VCR which worked as well). I find, with the increase of HD programming my HR20 fills up quickly and this is a cheaper alternative to getting an external HD. I just burn off some movies / shows to DVD. One caveat is that DVD Recorders do NOT burn HD formatted shows to HD nor do they burn sound in 5.1 DD. My DVD Recorder DOES upconvert the video to 1080i, so it's not TOO bad, and I just record shows to DVD where DD 5.1 is no imperative to the enjoyment of the show or movie (I would NEVER burn Star Wars to DVD using this method as you WANT to watch that with 5.1 sound.
