I lied .. The download is happening any minute now ..
I don't know how it works exactly with respect to "why" you can download sometimes and other times it has to be a push.
This is a push download only .. You will not be able to pull it no matter how hard you try (even if you are targeted) .. It must be initiated by the receiver.
Oh, an H24-200 downloads will follow soon after the the HR24-200 downloads. We need to make sure those are working as well.
Folks that may not have seen this before .. This "thing" you are seeing has happened in the past. Sometimes it takes more effort than others to get it right, but it's all part of the Field Trial process and all part of making it so this doesn't happen when the unit is fully qualified.
I was just thinking that maybe each receiver has a primary transponder where it looks to for 0-2-4-6-8, and a secondary transponder where pushes are done from. Or maybe it's just always the same transponder and there's just some flag in the stream whether you can initiate or not.
Thought this because some receivers show multiple transponders in the firmware history.
Nah, that's just DIRECTV moving things around as they really are bandwidth limited to some degree.
What, and you thought that we would let that slip? :lol: Us die hard CE'rs wouldn't tolorate not being able to download a firmware at least once a week!!!
well, my download worked this time How about the other HR24-200 folks who were targeted. Did yours work today?

Pretty funny that with millions of customers, some guy did something in a control room or on a PC somewhere this afternoon that caused an update to go out to FIVE boxes!

Push received OK on 6/17 for my HR24-200
I'm not sure if this is related, but the receiver froze again the same way it did before around the time of the push. Sorry I was so brief before, basically what happens is I attempt to change the channel off whatever channel the receiver was left on and I get a solid grey screen. Menus work, but I am unable to change the channel. A menu reset fixes the problem. I'm not sure if this is related to the software push or not, but I wanted to mention it in this thread.
