Just experienced this on a recorded show. Is this something new, locals only, or???
    HR44, if that matters.

I have read many times that downloaded programs, some of them, do not let you FF thru the ads. If you recorded it from the sat then this sounds new. ??

This is recorded off satellite, yes, and no, I've NEVER not been able to FF through commercials on a recorded show. Ever.

There must be a terminology issue here. You cannot FF past commercials on any on-demand recordings. However, there is no such limitation on recordings of live content. Never has been. Are you sure you are describing the issue correctly?

    What show(s)?

I've only had that happen for On Demand downloads.

Not a terminology issue, obviously an HR44 issue, or Directv issue. This was an episode of Dateline, that we always record on KNTV, NBC, not NBC On Demand, BUT, for some weird reason, the episode in question, recorded off 1004, NBC On Demand. So, upon further investigating, you could say, we noticed that some are recording on NBC On Demand. NEVER seen that happen before, so what are we missing?

I wonder, any chance there was a conflict that night and it chose the on demand version since it couldn’t record live?

Also, if you look in series manager, is it set to record the show from all channels or just from the one channel?

Just checked it the Series Manager, and it's set to record from KNTV, Channel 11, so why would it record a couple episodes off 1004, NBC On Demand?? Doesn't make sense.

I just checked that, and it's set to record from just KNTV, Channel 11, so it's weird to me. I did notice though, that other shows in the series manager, are set to all channels. I've never even paid attention to any of that, and looked when setting a show to record, and don't see a way to set it for one or all channels. Never had this issue before either, so never needed to know this. We go to a show on the normal channel we watch it on, and set it to record, end of story. Is there an option when setting a show to record?? I sure don't see one.

In the past, recording from a Smart Search would get all channels and recording from the Guide would be just that specific channel. I hope that hasn't changed.

Yeah, maybe that's it. I'm still wondering why it recorded Dateline from NBC On Demand, when it's set to record from KNTV, channel 11

You are seeing what I've been seeing for months across at least two National Releases. For some reason I keep getting duplicate recordings of shows I properly record on network broadcasts. All the duplicates show On Demand channels in the Guide.

I get the same duplicated recordings nearly every day. I also get the proper recordings, no conflict that I can see.

Done that several times and they always come back. Nothing seems to help. I think it only happens on my 44 but the next time I get one...let me check...nothing last night. Next time it happens I'll make sure which HR is doing it.

I record The Late Show every day it's on and I set the recording using the Guide. I have seen recordings that have a time stamp of 6:30 PM on channel 1002. I never use On Demand for anything.

Be willing to bet the "techs" at ATT don't know why that happens either. Simply put, it should not happen.

Rich, I thought we were talking about not being able to FF through commercials, not the duplicate recordings issue, which has been discussed extensively in the New GUI thread.

The duplicates seem to be where the TS is seeing the problem. If the duplicates weren't there would there be a problem?

Because there are duplicates, he can’t FF through commercials? Have we entered Bizarroworld? Static noise bursts. Channels changing spuriously. Can’t delete a program when finished watching. Audio and video suddenly freezing. Are we witnessing a total DTV meltdown? Should we get out now while we still can?
