What are the multipliers relevant to the 1,2,3,4 on the FFWD?

From the Undocumented HR20 Tips and Tricks:

FFWD - Undocumented! -Fast Forward is 5, 12, 20, or 90 times normal speed!

    Thanks.
I knew it was slower than the 300x I was used to, but I didn't know it was that slow.

90x is pretty fast. You can FF through 60 minutes of programming in 40 seconds. Not sure why you'd need faster than that.

Yup, not too happy with the weather either.

Seriously, I used to watch movies at 300x just to see if they were any good.
The 300x playback on my old E* DVR was actually smoother than the 90x on the HR20, so I could speed watch an iffy movie.
Sometimes, like with a low-brow movie like "Super Troopers", that was good enough to see that it sucked.

My brain can process visual information pretty quickly.
Also why the guide on the HR20 seems to crawl for me.

I know this might sound ridiculous, but 40 seconds is long time to scroll through 60 minutes.

What really stinks is trying to get to a specific point in a 3 or 4 hour recording.

You got to hold the FF button a bunch of different times and then FF or RW to the point you want. I guess it beats using a VCR.

You need to turn off animations. This is done using a hidden menu.

You press menu-->search-->keyword-->type "IAMANEDGECUTTER-->continue-->when it finds nothing press and hold menu and info button on the front of the unit together for 2 seconds and let go. The menu will pop up.

The screen to turn animations on or off is now part of the default GUI and was rolled out nationally in 0x168. Just press [MENU], go to Hel & Settings > Setup > Display. Change Scrolling Effects to On or Off as desired.

    Still too slow for me.

It's instantaneous for me. I push page down and it immediatley pages down. How much faster can it be?
How is it slow for you?

Yup, you're right. I did the IAMANEDGECUTTER trick day one, so I haven't paid attention to updates made to those features.

Page down takes about a second for me.
If I push the button too quickly again, it doesn't register.
Is there some way to alter the button reset rate so that it will take more rapid input?

    I'm in IR mode.
Too much keybounce and lag in RF.

Sorry, don't know what to tell ya. My remote started being a bit laggy a week ago. I replaced the batteries and all returned to normal blazing speed.

    Jump is 300x.

Sir, you are fast on the draw (and accurate)!

    Teays...
But it still "jumps" 3-5 minutes at a time. I would like to see D* slow it down to maybe 40-50x and get it smooth, then slowly bump it back up.

Translation: I used to watch movies at 300x just to look for boobies.
