Why not? It provides programming. Concerts and BBC stuff.
You do know that Comcast agreed to give Fios CSN Philly *before* the terrestrial loophole was closed? You know, back when they absolutely refused to offer it to satellite at all?
Yes they did they just added WLNY HD in NY.
You werent specific on national adds.
They also added 10 spanish HD channels.
I have both DirecTV and FiOS.
Last time I did a comparison, this was my result, ignoring the sports packages and the .tv channels.
I haven't looked at it very recently, but think it's still mostly accurate.
DirecTV HD (not on FiOS)
CBS Sports Network
Crime & Investigation
Fox Soccer Plus
MLB Strike Zone
Sony Movie Channel
Starz in Black
FiOS HD (not on DirecTV)
ESPN Goal Line / Buzzer Beater
Lifetime Movie Network
Nat Geo Wild
NFL RedZone (the generic NFL version)
World Fishing Network
HBO Comedy West
HBO Family West
HBO Latino West
HBO Signature West
HBO Zone West
Showtime 2 West
Sho Extreme West
When comparing cable-television providers on which companies carry which channels, a self-creation does not count.
Still not giving me a reason. It is programming. It includes both original and programming from other sources.
Then I guess none of the NBCU channels on Comcast count.
Does it only count if others buy it? That is an odd rule.
I just did. Audience Network is a self-created channel from DirecTV. Only designed to be available on DirecTV.
Why does that not make it a channel?
By your reasoning, CSN Philly was a non-entity before they offered it to Fios and other cable systems. So why was anyone worked up about it?
tony, the new Fios speeds are very nice.
the higest i see now is 300dn 65 up. next tear below is 150dn 65 up.
the 300 tier is the only one, they won't allow to be bundled its 185 a month alone.
the fios triple play for the 150dn 65 up is 165 a month not including boxes and equipment. so im guessing over 200 a month
comcast is now listing ad's stating there new speeds are coming out and people are going to be getting double there speeds at no extra cost then what there paying now.
I tried to get info on them but they are not offered locally yet for me. But I am quite happy with my 25/15(?) that I have now. Does all that I need.
Upgraded from 35/35 to 75/35 FiOS service a few weeks ago...and my bill went DOWN by $10.
IAE, Audience is indeed a channel. Some very amusing stuff, too, sometimes.
Now that would be cool. Hope I can do that.
Do they replace equipment of just up it for you remotely?
hey tony, i just found out not sure on the exact date, but comcast is planning
for the preformance and blast internet tiers they will be doubling those 2 teirs speeds at no additional cost.
I'm on the blast and get 25dn 5 up, so if I remain on the same plan I'll get 50dn 10 up.
Also at that time, comcast should be unvailing there new internet speed plans.
Not sure if they will rival FIOS in speed but will see.
I do compliment Comcast for its internet. They upped speeds before while I was a customer without any more than inflation increases.
I just wish that they provided for me the same TV perks that Fios does (namely, some DC locals in HD that I cannot pick up otherwise). I would go back to them.
FIOS customers have as much right to complain about no new HD as everyone else. In fact, I insist on it.
I was in the first week of FIOS installs in New Jersey and so had the very original fibre terminal. That was upgraded over a year ago when I moved up from 20/5 to 35/35. This upgrade was all done remotely. So, if you already have the 2 piece terminal, I think you are go to go.
Yes they can do it remotely. I upped from 35/35 I think it was or 35/15 whatever is was to 75/35 a couple weeks ago. Sometimes it takes around 12-24 hours as was the case with me but no one has to come out. Seriously if FIOS ever wound up with NFL ST I'd probably go with them. It has nothing to do with channel disputes or anything, I just feel they are more affordable through bundling. Although I do believe their equipment is inferior from my limited experience with them in the past.
I have a question for you. Do you get the 75/35 speed wirelessly? I get around 50/20 that way. I have to use the Ethernet cable to get the faster speed which I must say is usually 82/37 or something like that.
