His interest is the $$$, if his parent company tells him he's about to lose 20 million subscribers, he'll say anything they want

Not knowing him personally, I'm not going to make judgements. It's possible he was pressured into it...

    Either way, it's pathetic...

Like I said, I won't judge him. FOX could be pressuring him.

Either way, it doesn't reflect well on him.

I love how they leave out the part about how often this happens, and what the common denominator is...

So if we lose these channels does that mean Directv has violated our contract and we will be free to cancel without penalty ?

How would you suggest they do that?

For me, FX, Speed and FMC would be the big loss. I understand the negotiations and threats, But would like to see it resolved before we, the subscribers, lose out. I am not ready to leave directv over this, but would consider revamping my package and finding alternate access to these channels. That being said, I do expect it to be resolved, but expect to be without these channels for a few days.

for our household only NatGeo means anything the rest ofthe channels can go, still wish there was a way to drop all sports channels and save those costs

Really??? Netflix wont have this seasons SoA episodes till they come out on DVD, and that wont be till next sept-October when the next season starts just like the other few times.
Less thats what you are talking about to begin with. FX doesn't allow even hulu to stream recent episodes.
Not sure about you but im not one to want to wait a yr almost to catch up on episodes.

you are right about justified, this will suck for that as i like that show as well.

I am a big fan of Formula 1 and auto racing in general. The loss of having Speed will have a major affect on me. I will be missing the last 2 races of the season if the channel is black for any period of time.
However, a line on price increases has to be drawn. I have been with D* for 12 yrs. I will not be leaving because of this.
I do hope that the dispute will end before the end of January. Otherwise I will have to drive to Daytona for the 24hr.

"Despite recent discussions surrounding various Fox Regional Sports Networks that will be pulled down on DIRECTV, games will NOT be interrupted in the NHL Center Ice package. All games will be available on their regularly scheduled network and will appear on their normal channel".... just a FYI if you're a hockey fan.

No, it does not mean that at all.

My local CW just had an add that said it was going to be pulled November 1st, not December 31st. Someone has their dates mixed up.

Unfortunately that doesn't help those that are in market.

That said, I'm in the camp of those that don't believe these channels will go dark and even if they do, it won't be for very long. So, relax and worry about it IF it happens.

But, we'll get India, then we have to weeks to sweat it out. I'm sure it will all be good by then.

It is pretty obvious where the FOX issue is originating from, by the fact that both services are at a standstill with negotiations.

Right. And I wish I could drop NatGeo and just keep all the sports and few others. We both want the same thing albeit for different reasons.

Which I guess is why we'll never have true ala carte.
