Have been calling for six months.

They say there aren't any promotions out there.

    They just magically disappeared?

When I used the word you I don't think I was referring to you or anyone else on this thread specifically.

I was merely asking if they worked for Dish or not? Reason? They came to his defense pretty quickly? Is that not allowed?

Explain why I have received a discount for probably twelve of the last thirteen years then?

I'm surprised that any subscriber got $40 for any sustained length of time. Normally such discounts are limited to new subscribers and only a few months. The bigger the discount, the shorter the months. DISH is not a company that is known for giving large discounts for extended time.

Please avoid accusing our members of working for DISH. We all offer our opinions and experiences - many based on decades of being DISH subscribers. Your posts make it sound like people must be paid off in order to say anything positive about the company. That is a nasty allegation. And your 'question" was expressed in a derogatory way - "cheap Charlie defender" is name calling and a violation of site rules.

You also might want to learn pronouns. DISH is a company not a person. The people you are speaking to here are not the company. "You" can get you in a lot of trouble when "they" is more appropriate.

We don't have to explain DISH's policies. Perhaps you (since you apparently got a discount) can explain how you managed to get discounts from a company that is not known for large long term discounts? What discounts were on your bill? How often did you have to call and renew?

Or to echo the words you throw at us: Did you work for Charlie? Did your employee discount expire? (Used for illustration - not fun to have false accusations tossed at you, is it?)

I don't work for Charlie. I am not a Dish employee. Unlike you (I am referring to you now) I am not upset about that.

Typically I called in once a year.

How can I get in trouble?

Maybe Dish's agents aren't very good at negotiating?

I know they aren't very bright.

One CSR suggested last summer I go to a friend or relatives house to watch the Cardinals games . I replied every day?
I do not work for Charlie. My employee discount did not expire. I don’t mind you asking those questions unlike you (which I am now referring to you) or the rest.

as I have said I can’t remember the last time I haven’t had a discount from DISH it has been so long.

I typically called in once a year to renew. It seemed like years ago they had two year agreements. The last three four years it was only one year.

maybe I am better at negotiating than DISH CSR’s?

That isn't the job of customer service. Their job is to assist customers with repairs and orders. They can suggest products to purchase and upgrades but they are not used car salesmen who are supposed to be setting the price. They can pull up a list of offers available for your account but they are not there to haggle.

Perhaps after 12 years of discounts the alogarithm has decided that you don't need any more discounts? You have stayed with DISH six months after losing your last discount so perhaps the alogarithm is right. :)

I was talking to the Loyalty Department not Customer Service.

problem is I only have two options. DISH or Direct TV.

    Both options are bad.

Be sure to tell them that when you are begging for a discount. (Actually don't ... they don't need the grief.)

So telling me to go to either a family meber's house or friends house EVERY day to watch the Cardinals is a brilliant idea?

    Seriously?

    Another
One mental giant told me to go to a friends house or family members house to watch the games.

    Now how stupid is that?

I am supposed to inconvenience family members and friends (almost every day mind you) because my television provider can't be bothered to come to a deal like EVERY other MAJOR television provider. Probably a Rhodes scholar. Right?

Another one didn't even know what USA TODAY was when I cited an article in that newspaper. Maybe she couldn't read?

I already am paying 45 dollars more a month to cheap Charlie than I was last year.

you would think he would find a way to get a deal done.
