I have heard really bad things about Direct TV.

I want to go back to what I was paying at DISH plus the channels I want.

It is frustrating DISH used to take care of me.

I have been with them for 13 years now and they act like I just signed up.

Actually they treat new customers better than they treat me.

    Now not so much.

i have DTV and yes there not perfect. what if charlie don't want to pay what sinclair wants for those channels then what??? all companies treat new customers better than ones they had for years. it don't pay to be loyal to these companies anymore. like in the old days to where your ins company gave you loyality discounts for being a loyal customer...
DTV has treated me good.. though i had to figure out who to talk to about my issues and threatened with the FCC...
it took me 4 times to get a genie 2 put in. each time a tech came out they had excuses of what a POS the genie 2 is LOL. so the 5th time the tech showed and guess what. he started telling me i would loose all of my recordings once i switched up i said no problem the drive is empty. then he started rattling on about all of the problems i would have with it once i got it installed. i said install it anyways. funny thing is i haven't had any of the problems with it that he said i would. i also told him that the rep told me if it wasn't installed this time then then installer doing his job would be fired. well that pissed him off:D:rolleyes:...
and if you want to talk about cheap charlie you should try spectrum they won't budge on pricing once the deals are over they would rather you leave..

13 years ago the packages were $50 cheaper. But there isn't any going back.

I would say if Direct TV and all the other providers like Comcast and Spectrum did the same thing then you might have a chance against Sinclair.

I contacted Spectrum about a year ago.

Looked on the website and it said they service my address.

Called CS and they said we don't service your address.

Tells me all I need to know about Spectrum.

I had my bill RAISED by 45 dollars six months ago.

So my package was almost 50 dollars cheaper then.

    Not 13 years ago.

    Great...

    LUCKY YOU!

ALL Those years you paid way less than the rest of us did for some very ODD reason
DISH DOES NOT GIVE THAT LARGE OF A DISCOUNT FOR "YEARS".
MAYBE SOMEONE SHOULD LOOK INTO YOUR ACCOUNT> MAYBE IT WAS A BOOKKEEPING ERROR AND YOU OWE DISH.
If I was as UNHAPPY as you sound, I'd move on. Buy a ROKU and stream. That's "Cheap"
Probably time to close this. What do you think, Jim Long?

He is right on many points. Dish won't negotiate prices compared with Direct. Once a price is set it usually will stay that way. A friend of mine liked Dish but couldn't take the no FS sports dispute so finally left for comcast and is quite satisfied. He didn't have the latest hopper though which has kept our household with Dish in spite of the missed sports in Mpls.

I also think Dish has other things in mind besides sports programming as seen by the latest quartely report. Not the one you guys are talking about but the previous one. As stated most of the sports fans have left already so why raise the rates on Dish subscribers who have stuck with us and like the low rates and quality programming. I think that was the basic statement. Had Direct and dislike there equipment. Will stay with Dish. Sorry for the long speach

Streaming is not an lion for me.
How am I shouting at you?

I prove you wrong and you tell me to stop shouting?

    how does that work?

maybe you might want to go back and read that DISH and Direct are the only options for me.

Because of where I live my internet is only 15 meg. Not good enough for streaming.

    please keep up.

All caps is shouting. You posted words in all caps.
You seem to have an issue with quoting as well (double quoting and triple quoting other's posts).

Shouting is not proof. Even asserting your opinion without all caps isn't proof.
We only have your word that your bill was $45 lower in January than February.
If you care to post proof (bill with your name redacted showing credits received) you can.
You are (of course) not required to offer proof. And readers are not required to believe you.

Regular package prices have gone up $50 over the past 13 years. That statement is not wrong.

I’m going to chime in, and I don’t mean to beat a dead horse, but Dish lost those channels a year ago. Also,it sounds like you are a long time subscriber so I figured you would have known that. Also, just about everyone agrees those channels aren’t coming back to DISH anytime soon. Why not go to Directv or an over the top option if you are able?

Streaming CAN be done on 15 Mbps download - but you aren't going to do much else at the same time and maybe only 2 streams.

I only capitalized one word for emphasis?

Why would I lie about my bill being 45 dollars less?

    W
So that is not really an option then.

DISH was going to give me 20 dollars towards a HULU sub.

So you raised my price 45 dollars and I still have to pay thirty dollars more to watch my team.

    Great suggestion.

It makes a more compelling complaint than "DISH raised their prices $5 this year" or "DISH raised their prices $50 over the past 13 years".

You have yet to explain the discounts you claim you had. DISH is not known for giving people $40 per month for more than a few months (usually in the form of free content such as free Showtime or free HBO/Cinemax when they carried those channels). At the end of the few months the free content goes away or the customer starts paying for it.

Please detail the discounts you received, when they started and how much each discount was on your January bill.

scooper did not raise your price.

    I wasn't talking about scooper.

I was talking about my discussion with the DISH rep.

About wanting to give me a one time credit of twenty dollars when HULU costs 50.

I am not going to publish what I paid.

you either believe me or you don’t.

again, what benefit would I have to lie about that?

It is kind of like in the Mivie The Untouchables.

when Sean Connery turns away from Kevin Costner after Costner tells Connery he is a treasury offficer.

costner berates Connery’s character about turning his back on an armed man.

Connery retorts you said you were a treasury officer. Who would claim to be that and is not?

Correct pronouns help the conversation. When you write "you" and mean "they" it just adds confusion.

If you don't want to be understood or believed that is fine with me. We have had plenty of people who just want to make noise.

    Carry on ...
