I don't think they're all that prevalent any more.

With mobile web video devices, why not just go out in your car someplace private if you can't do it at home for some reason.

Maybe this place has some live acts though?

I wasn't surprised when Reubens got caught for some reason. Willard is another story. This came as a shock.

Back in the early 70s, I took a friend of mine to see Deep Throat, he'd never seen it and didn't want to go alone. My friend has an infectious, loud laugh and had the whole audience laughing along with him within minutes of the movie's beginning. He's a huge guy and nobody told him to shut up when he started laughing. One of the funniest experiences I've ever had in a theater of any kind.

Still got them in NYC. Also have the "peep shows", where you pay for minutes to watch a girl thru a window do "things" to herself. That's where you find the real perverts. I've never been to one, but years ago, Times Square had quite a few of them.

Huh? You don't like perverts in trench coats??? (Exactly my reaction to same in NYC ca. 1967.) Veeeeery creepy.

Four times a day? Almost sounds like the vice cops want a free bit of the show.

The odd part to me is... IF the cops feel the need to go there that often, why can't they just shut the place down? I mean, if that much illegal stuff is happening all the time.

Makes me think it is typically just minor stuff.

I've never been to an adult theater, never wanted to... the vibe when you pass one on the road is bad enough to keep me driving on by.

On the one hand I feel sorry for guys getting caught in these places... on the other, I can't fathom why they want to be there doing what they get caught doing.

Sounds like they're trying to harass the customers away so the business closes. If that doesn't work, they can go to the City Council with a file full of citations and try to get it closed by ordinance as a nuisance.

It was a night to remember. As we left the theater people were still laughing and applauded my friend. We laughed all the way home....

As Stephen Colbert said: Didn't he ever hear of THE INTERNET!

Didn't think they still had those theaters. I remember as a teenager "back in the old days" taking the train into NYC with some guys and touring 42nd St. I vividly remember seeing my first porn in a theater that had really sticky floors. I guess they spilled a lot of soda at those movies. It was a hoot.

To avoid confusion we can refer to this behavior as "pulling a pee-wee."

I'm a big fan of Mr. Willard and wish this hadn't happened.

It seems to me that Fred has been very successful in both the tv and motion picture venues... every time i turn around i see him playing a part on the screen - very versatile actor in my opinion. i hope his situation doesn't destroy him.

Is that still open? That's where I took my friend to see Deep Throat.

Can they still be an "adult" movie house after all these years?

My perverted mind saw the thread title and wondered if it was in proper context. Perhaps it should read "Pulling *his* Paul Rubens" or perhaps now we can understand why the vice cops were involved:p
