For 50 cents a day and most premium services getting 10 to 12 channels, plus VOD, plus streaming.

    Yes.

Epix only has Paramount and two other studios. Some good recent content, but I would hardly say all the premium channels combined. Showtime only has one studio deal left, but Starz and HBO still have some very good studio deals.

Epix does have an extensive older catalog available from their streaming and on demand as well.

It is the only add on I have with fios.

I'm thinking from Directv's POV, that the reason why they don't add Epix is because if they do, when there contract expires Viacom might ask for a more outrageous fee, apart for what they increased previously, Or Directv doesn't have interest on the Epix channels and feel that they have enough premiums.

Yes, their back catalog isn't bad. My reference was merely that there are many studios out there, some of which the other premiums have, some of which EPIX has. I wouldn't say EPIX is better than the other premiums combined as the poster said.

If this were true, then the laws of the market aren't working since they are priced around $10 while every other premium around the country is priced higher. Just my two cents.

I definitely agree for HBO, especially with the ton of content on demand now.
However, i scrolled through cinemax looking for things to watch/record during the freeview this weekend and saw almost nothing that interested me.

Showtime has quite a few shows we like, but their movie selection is atrocious unless you happen to love watching twilight over and over.

Curious as to why "The Advengers" & "The Dark Knight Rises" hasn't made it to HBO or Cinemax, or Starz yet. Proof enough??

No, it is still on. Given the freeview started at 9AM ET on Friday, it should go until 9AM ET Tuesday, if it follows the pattern of previous freeviews.

Since a few D*TV people do read this forum, THANK YOU so much for the free weekend of HBO during the Season 3 opener of Game of Thrones. I was able to catch up with the entire second season as well as watch the Season 3 series opening episode. I really do love this series and thank HBO and DTV for giving us a chance to see it.

Now... can we talk about scheduling a free HBO weekend during the Season 4 opener? Hmm?

Theyve done a free preview for the premiere of all 3 seasons now so seems like a good bet.

Thrones schmones, sorry but I don't watch it. As usual freeview sucked, I will take it if they have a free promotion or even reduced credit, But paying full price you gotta be kidding me.
