Kewl! Time to queue up the movie recording. I knew this 2 TB drive would come in handy. Thanks for the head's up.

I've got it free for 3 months right now and there is absolutely nothing on. I honestly don't know how they stay in business. I've never heard of 99% of the movies they show.

Maybe people subscribe because they have movies you can't see anywhere else? ;) I actually subscribe for a month or two, just to watch some of their exclusive series like Dexter. I usually just wait until the season is over, download the episodes from VOD and watch the complete season.

I assume that includes Jan. 10? That's when S4 of Californication premieres. So that's one less week that I have to subscribe.

Hasn't it been a long time since Showtime (or HBO or Cinemax) had a free preview weekend?

Californication S4 premieres on Sunday January 9th.

Two new original series, Shameless and Episodes, premiere the same night, which explains the timing of the Freeview.

I don't get this line of reasoning. If you never heard of the movie, how can you decide whether you would like it or not, much less dismiss it as nothing?

"Valkrie", "Transsiberian", "The Hurt Locker", "Quantum of Solace", just to name a few. These are big budget films on Showtime produced by major studios with globally recognized stars and you never heard of them? You must have been in solitary confinement.

Those seem to easily fall within 1%, but you probably knew 99% was likely hyperbole.

I think the only thing I've seen worthwhile to watch in 2010 on Showtime was the new series "The Big C". Unfortunately, that alone doesn't warrant the cost to add it as a service here.

The freeview might let me catch up on a few more episodes, since they repeat them different times. Thanks for sharing.

Showtime is horrible with movies selections old and new. I got STarz and love it.

They fall within the 1% of stuff I have heard of. I've already watched Valkyrie and Hurt Locker and have Quantum of Solace recorded.

With the free preview starting on Friday, it seems appropriate to bump this thread.

This stinks. I'm already getting Showtime for free as a new customer. And now they have a free preview which isn't going to benefit me at all.

    I DEMAND COMPENSATION!!!!!

    ;)

Isn't Unlimited part of Showtime's advertising? Or am I thinking of someone else?
