I'm getting the Sports Pack channels but I'm not subscribed to them. My anniversary is October 28 so it's too early for that. Is there a free preview running?

I got the same thing...but it's for free for 90 days for me...or something...

I got it as my anniversary gift, although it was not what they offered to start, but I negotiated my way to it.

My anniversary gift was given about a month early this year. My guess is that is what happened to you as well. Look under the recent activity tab on your account online to see if you can find when and how it was added.

They just billed my account today and it doesn't say anything about Sports Pack. Just same old stuff I've always had: Choice Xtra, HBO, Max, Sho, Starz, HDX, HD DVR. I don't want Sports Pack, can I trade for one of the adult channels?

Damn. I got Game Lounge as my anniversary gift a few months back. I asked if they could switch it to SP but no dice.

I guess it is my gift, it's showing up on my account page now. I hate getting socks for my birthday :(

I got the sports pack as an anniversary gift as well. Its like getting a suit compared to last year, which was Game Lounge. Now that's a pair of socks to me.

Not exactly a straight across trade. DIRECTV asks stupid money for adult channels (although the bunny channel is in line with the competition).

Sports Pack is a ripoff too. On the RSN's a third of the shows are blacked out, and another third are infomercials. Half of the stuff that isn't blacked out are on 20 other channels too.

Even at that, you still have 15+ active channels of stuff for $12.99 instead of one channel for $40-50 that you might watch once per day.

I'd "watch" it way more than once a day. ;)

Not if you are a college sports fan. Almost every football game is in the clear and in HD from the various RSNs and the same with college basketball.

Judging from the statements about sports interest and the tagline, CCK is probably with the wrong provider.

I don't think so. I just don't like Sports Pack. D* has more premiums than E*. D* handles overflow RSN's properly. I only need 1 dish for D*. D* doesn't have as many carriage disputes as E*.

That's also why I sub to the Sports Pack, for college football.

About the only thing I actually will watch on the Sports Pack is the Sabres post game show. So I definitely wouldn't pay for it, but do enjoy it when its free. Had a special a couple years ago, $2/mo for six months. That was when the MSG feeds on NHL CI were only in SD. So it was worth $2 to see the post game shows with the highlights in HD.
