still can't believe that DirecTV finally added Epix to it's channel lineup. was looking forward to their first freeview and a nice bonus that we are getting it for one full month.

Yup its 1 full month posted about it back in May here. Also U-Verse TV subs get a weekend free preview from July 25 - 28, 2019 in time for the Pennyworth premiere.

I'm glad that Epix was added too will give AT&T thumbs up for working out this deal. Makes sense they did the free preview now for D* instead of when they first launched Epix. They just got Epix on Demand up and running today and Pennyworth premieres on the 28th. The last hurdle is getting D* subs access to Epix.com & Epix app.

;) I'm waiting for this to extend indefinitely if the Starz contract isn't renewed in August. ;)

Starz is up for contractual renewal in August?

If that is the case, I would expect renewal. Along with renewal, I would anticipate IndiePlex, RetroPlex, and MoviePlex finally getting added by AT&T to DirecTV.

Epix On Demand is channel 1558

Channel 1556 is Flix On Demand

If AT&T adds the 3 Plex channels to D* the only logical place to put them would be 532, 533 and 534 which is the gap between Starz & Starz Encore.

They can't put them after the Starz Encore channels as there are only 2 channel spots available between Starz Encore & Showtime.

They really need to do some sort of mini-reshuffle the 500s are almost full. They have no space if they ever decide to add Showtime Family Zone (the only Showtime multiplex missing) If they ever add OuterMax it would need to go on 524 which would eliminate the gap between Cinemax and Starz.

It is on UVerse. I don’t know about DIRECTV. https://www.att.com/esupport/article.html#!/u-verse-tv/KM1333754

Its possible AT&T has aligned their Starz agreement to cover D*, D* Now and U-Verse TV post merger we won't actually know unless a dispute actually occurs or a press release about an agreement is made.

Why no EPIX DRIVE IN? 561 is obviously available. All that’s there is a still ad for “Perpetual Grace Ltd.”.

I would reassign Sundance TV out of the 500s. (Preferably in the 250s near AMC and We. That is where IFC should have been relocated.) With Sundance TV, it is long overdue.

One thing that could be done is move Epix to cover channels 557 to 560. (That would accommodate Epix Drive–In, if ever added.)

Another possibility, for the rest of what you mentioned, is to accommodate west-coast feeds to a dash (“–”) like with what was done with recently adding TNT—West and TBS—West and MTV—West.

To do a more effective reshuffle of the premium-movie programmers, perhaps better organized, imagine:

    501 HBO [screens]
    511 Cinemax [screens]
    521 Starz [screens]
    531 Starz Encore [screens]
    541 Showtime [screens]
    551 The Movie Channel [screens]
    553 Flix
    555 Epix [screens]

some observations from today. i checked out the on-demand stuff for Epix, tho we don't get it during this free preview. all the on-demand stuff is in 1080p, the other three premium channels are in 1080i format. i know 4K is the newest thing but found that fascinating and hope this is only the beginning of them rolling out more 1080p content.

When I tried to record a VOD from Epix, I got the message that I had exceeded my purchase limit, and it wouldn’t record. Is this how they are telling me that the free viewing period doesn’t include VOD?

I recorded "Operation Finale", anyone notice a five second skip forward, happened about four or five times during the movie, I have never seen this on any other channel. It would jump forward and you lost five or ten seconds of the movie.

that is interesting as i have that movie set to record in the near future, will have to check it out and see if there is an issue. i have watched several movies over this weekend and there was no problem with any of them that i watched on the three Epix channels.
