Gas is cheap here between Washington DC and Baltimore)! Laurel Maryland $1.95-$1.98/gal., Beltsville/College Park, $2.00 to $2.05/gal.

    Must be because... who knows?

I was amazed to find gas at Costco on Maui for $2.39 per gallon. Local dealers were all above three bucks. Hertz wanted $5.22 to refill my tank if I brought the car back less than full. There was a long line but it was worth the 15-minute wait; I figure that I saved about $30 by going to Costco to refill compared to the Hertz price.

We are all over the place, especially diesel. One place will have gas at $2.29 and diesel at $2.39, others will have gas at $2.09, but diesel at $2.65. It is usually the trucks stops with the higher diesel prices which sucks because they have the fast fill nozzles which can put 30 gallons in in under a minute..

Our gas prices rose about 23 cents a gallon on November 1. NJ ran out of money to fix the roads (gee, I wonder where all the money went...) and the governor decided to make up for the shortfall by adding the 23 cents to every gallon of gas (gee, I wonder where that money will really go...). Well, the local road projects are going forward and the price of gas is dropping. Regular gas seems to be about $2.17-$2.23. Still not bad.

To answer your question ("I wonder where all the money went?") politicians love to borrow from Peter to pay Paul. :sure:

You have to remember, this is NJ I'm talking about. One of the most corrupt states. That money for the roads is probably in someone's pocket.

They probably spent it on a study of government waste ... but I digress.

No matter where the money went, as usual, it did not go where it should have gone. This is nothing new.

Gas has jumped up here by about fifteen cents a gallon in the last week or two. Yesterday, it was $2.18 to 2.19/gal everywhere except for one BP station where their price manager was apparently asleep at the switch, so I only paid $2.05, but I practically ran to the cash only cashier because I was sure the price would be gunched up any second.

I have been expecting that to happen with what crude prices are doing but here in the Denver area it has been staying steady for the past couple weeks. My area is $1.89 and the city average is about $1.96

I've got $1.98 at the Costco and $2.02 at Sam's located in Lone Tree CO. Otherwise prices vary from $2.12- $2.21 in the Denver metro area. Where I live NE of Denver its $2.11 which is a drop of.05 in the last 24 hours. I used Gas Buddy for my prices.

$2.55 at Costco yesterday, which is about as good as one can find in the LA area.
