I would like to know what you think of the Genie at this point or why you don't have one yet.

I like it just fine, I would like to have more than one.
5 tuners isn't enough for my 5 room system.

I like the Genie but I would have to add WHDVR service and I try to keep my bill down by constant calling ( every 6 months ) for whatever discounts I can get. I do not have a need for WHDVR since I am the only one in the house that uses a DVR.

I *would* love my Genie if only I could watch TV without any dropouts, freezes, and general periods of outright unresponsiveness.

I love the Genie! I have come to appreciate the value of its clients in proper locations too. Wether using it as a mere five tuner DVR or using it to distribute programming via the client it is a great device!

We have 6 tuners on the 3 units we have and they all work well. We were never offered a Genie and so far have no idea why we would want to switch. The units are all connected via CAT5 which is also working fine for "on demand" and multi room viewing. We do have the protection plan.

I wasn't interested in whole home DVR and the SWiM came with some earlier tests. Frankly, after all these years and the extraneous charges for the Lakers and maybe the Dodgers, I'm at the point where "it's only TV."

Last week I installed a Winegard antenna in the attic. I'm waiting a week, or so, to see how it goes. Then, I'll take a look at Tivo Roamio and a mini. I'm not certain where this will lead, but it's worth exploring. When the pricing is extrapolated over, say, 10 years and the ROI is a few months, it becomes an interesting decision.

I have enjoyed the Genie very much. The thing with me, is that I relocated from one city to another, in order to take care of our Mom after our Dad passed away. The location that I moved from had a SWiM16 installed. When I relocated, I took the SWiM16 with me. But, when the tech arrived at the new location for the new install, he would not install the SWiM16, because my new setup consisted of the HR34 and one C41 client. I had the SWiM16 at the other location, because I was running the Genie, along with two more HD DVRs. I recently added another C41 client to my account. I inquired again about getting the SWiM16 installed. But that tech would not install it either. He stated that if I still had the two HD DVRs on my account, there would be no issue at all in regards to installing the SWiM16. When all is said and done, I love my Genie. :)
