NY had used .SWM installation previously, just not a Genie 2 version.
1 wire from dish to the primary splitter.
By all the feedback you"re confirming I have it connected right. So I guess I have to start checking connections, coax, etc. I wouldn't expect its likely the splitters to be faulty. Thanks ya'll
yes, all F-connectors, cables between F-connectors include in walls...
If the dish is easily accessible like on a pole or edge of a single story eave, you could try bringing a TV outside and running an extension cord so you can connect the HS17 and C61K directly to a two way splitter coming off the dish. That would eliminate any inside wiring from the picture.
Mystery SOLVED ...although not quite sure what the issue was.
I ran continuity tests on the coax from the dish to the splitter... all good.
Checked the continuity on the coax from the splitter to the Genie 2 ... all good
Hooked up the receiver @ the Genie, still got a 775 error.
Don't ask me why, but decided to install the 2nd receiver in another room and BAM!! All good including the receiver at the Genie. WTF???? But everything is working. Go figure.
Happy you got it sorted out. I'm not an install genius by any means, so I have a question for you.
How do you have 3 devices connected to that 2 port splitter?
There might be a PI21 or PI29 in the line / coax of the second receiver that gave power to the whole system.
You said hook up a reciver @ Genie --The HS17 has no direct out put to any tv ??
Hence my question about 3 devices connected to a 2-way splitter.
Athlon and WestDC .... Unless you run a dedicated line to the Genie 2 tower .... (and why would you do that) you need to use a two-way splitter - one side goes to the tower and the other to a receiver... there are just 2 devices ... the genie tower and a receiver.
Again - happy you worked it out. I was confused by your statement 'including the receiver at the Genie'.
