I have a HR54 Genie receiver and a few of my recordings got deleted by accident yesterday. Does anyone know if there is a way to get them back?

    Thanks!

If your recordings were "deleted" they are gone. The only way to get them back is to re-record them. If your recordings were not deleted and are "missing" from your All Recordings menu your HR54-700 might have received a software update which sometimes causes errors with the GUIDE and Menus. If your HR54-700 did receive a software update give it 24 hours to see if they come back. If they don't come back after 24 hours perform a CLEARMYBOX. This will clear the guide data database.

Do a search for your lost programs, you may get lucky and find the episodes you lost? Then download them through internet.

I ran across an article this morning that says you can recover the deleted recordings with Stellar Video Recovery software for your computer. Anyone know if it actually works?

Have you done a reboot or CLEARMYBOX as suggested? While the odds aren't great, there have been times when all recorded shows weren't visible on the playlist but then returned later. You should try those first.

Does the CLEARMYBOX option able to restore a recording that I know for sure was deleted? It was just deleted by accident by someone else in my house. I can go to "recording history" and see the recording and it says that it was deleted by one of the bedroom receivers. So I know for sure that it's just not missing because of a bug or something.

I'll try CLEARMYBOX if you guys think it might be possible to restore it. But before I do that will this cause any of my other recordings to be deleted or go missing?

As I stated performing a CLEARMYBOX clears the guide data database. It will not delete recordings or make them go missing.

It will not recover any intentionally deleted shows either.

just curious, can you share what programs were accidentally deleted? These days, it is usually relatively easy to find the program online for downloading.

I guess not. Perhaps embarrassing titles?

I don't see any need to share what recordings I lost because I already know that they can't be found on the internet. But, because of your persistence they were 3 recordings of local evening news blacks.

Also, I performed the CLEARMYBOX and it did not recover any of the lost recordings. However, it did in fact delete my last 2 recordings from the day before.

Nothing is going to recover them. Nor was doing a clearmybox indicated it would

    Re-check your Recording Preferences.

If you lost recordings after a clear my box I think maybe you had a problem on the hard drive and hopefully that was fixed with the clear my box.

But do know sometimes a playlist will take a while to show everything again after a clear my box.

IDK why a delete can't be a soft delete until the storage space is required and allow you to undelete.
