The question I was answering was why would someone put an HR34 in a least used location.
You said it, its in your post. Go back and read it.
Some people would rather see, and not hear, the tiny Genie Client over seeing, and hearing, the big HR34
In the future don't post things you don't mean then.
Then you won't have to have your friend PM me nonsense!
Yes. But that question was quoting a previous post where samrs recommended that the OP put the Genie in the least used location. Since the OP doesn't have any clients, putting the Genie in the least used location, in order to put a client in the other locations wasn't a valid answer.
Again, nowhere did I say "bad looking" as you said I did.
I also had no one PM you.
Don't put words in my mouth. Better yet put me on ignore.
And your point? Someone asked a question, I answered it. Whether or not that had anything to do with the OP's setup doesn't matter. It was a question, it got an answer.
So now the OP was looking at getting a HR34(nothing to do with a client) and he's told to put it in the least used room.
Wow And I'm the one in the wrong.
Can we go back to the topic and sidestep any further poster to poster bickering?
Yep, he's happy with the answers he got that pertained to the topic.
I was the person who asked the question. The answer had nothing to do with the context of the question. An out of context answer doesn't do anything to help anyone.
A side question that has nothing to do with the Genie -- would it be easy to get the H24-100 connected to the rest of the house just by adding DECA to my existing system?
I know little about DECA, I didn't know how expensive/easy it is to install at this point. Does it require hardware in the back of each receiver, etc.? Is it something I can do on my own?
This H24-100 isn't near the rest of the house, which is the issue. As I wrote before I have SWM and MRV connected but not through DECA, just the ethernet.
The H24-100 has an internal DECA, so removing the ethernet cable and re-running the SAT setup would re-activate it, without any more hardware.
The HR22 doesn't have an internal DECA, so one would need to be added.
