Anyone know why GOLTV doesn't broadcast both Barcelona and Real Madrid games on the weekends. Seems like they do one or the other, but not both.

It has to do with the fact that Gol TV has the first pick each match day, and ESPN (usually shown on ESPN Deportes and ESPN3) has the second pick. I could be backwards on that, but either way, for obvious reasons Real Madrid and Barcelona are always picked either first or second, so GOL TV only shows one of the games.

Actually they alternate picks each match day. So GOL TV has the first pick one match day, and the following match day ESPN has the first pick.

And just to add, under this current agreement, "the Clasico" is broadcast by both GOL TV and ESPN Deportes. So at least on two match days of the league season, GOL TV will broadcast both Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Should be interesting. Even though I'm a Scouser fan, I love watching Messi. IMO the best ever. Although Ronaldo would probably disagree. Real and Barca probably are the two best in the world. El Clasico should be a screamer. If GOLTV can't reup on La Liga next year, I think they're done. And Ray Hudson, what a character. I love him. Where does he come up with that stuff?

And we get to see the Classico this coming weekend.

Ray Hudson is an original - going back to the NASL this side of the pond, played for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers - coming there from Newcastle.

Ray Hudson is horrible. He's lucky to have a job on a cut-rate network.
