I think there's enough information on the wired DVR. Okay to start playing with the wireless DVR yet?

I realize you're asking the mods, but i've been doing it for awhile. Where is an update?

I think the issue is capacity. If you're finding that it's working then I'd say go for it. Report back if there are problems because that's the key.

I am assuming you are talking about PC Playback wireless to a computer. I have tried that also and it didn't work good at all on HD. SD programming was so-so.

I'd guess if you run 802.11n you shouldn't really hit many bottleneck issues. 802.11g should work ok as long as you've got a good enough signal to sustain a constant 15Mbps (maximum) based upon the numbers I tallied in this thread: http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=124864

Any sort of trickplay actions cause the bitrate to jump up to 4x the norm for a brief period, so keep that in mind too.

I'm running a wireless N network and have had nothing but good things to say about it so far. The same issues I have on the wireless laptop, I have on my wired computer.

Sorry, it's been a little crazy here this week.

I actually meant testing playback from my wireless HR20 to my wired PC. I'm hoping to get a chance to play with it tonight as this looks like it's going to be my first quiet night in a while.

Posted in the issues thread. Reader's Digest though, SD video was fine and HD video (both MPEG-2 and MPEG-4) choked. I tried one of the MPEG-4 shows from the wired HR20 and it played back fine.

    Just as I suspected.

Yep. Wonder what the ratio of wireless HR20s to wired is. I'll bet the wireless will be bigger.
