Had a HD DVR fail tonight with the error code 15-681, called and having a replacement shipped, took less then 14min for the whole process.

It's nice when things that should be easy are easy. Good Job Directv and Denise.

Yep, that's how it should work. Thanks for the positive post.

Sounds similar to my experience a few years back. Very fast and easy. Does Directv still charge $14.99 to send a replacement DVR?

Nope they charge a little more now, 19.95 plus tax

And the $19.95 depends on whether you have the PP and the CSR. To me, it's a bit crazy that they charge the same for a new Access Card as a receiver, but that's the way it is.

I had an error code 15-500 on my HR20-100 last week. I have the Protection Plan, so they just sent me a replacement unit, no charge. They sent me a refurbished HR20-100s unit. I installed it today, and it seems to work fine.
